I wish I had held out for the PS4 version. I picked up the PC version a month-or-so ago, and while it's good, I think I might enjoy it more chilling on my couch. Oh well, maybe I'll double dip later if I find it on sale.
It's nice having new games that retain some of the mechanics and difficulty of old. I enjoy old and modern game design, though lately I've found myself playing more retro titles - such as a few mentioned by Jess in the video but also Super Time Force Ultra. I'm looking forward to Pillars of Eternity for my Infinity Engine nostalgia fix.
And to those complaining about the opinions expressed in the video: it's not like these games and ones like Skyrim can't coexist and be developed at the same time. If you don't agree with this kind of design philosophy then don't play the games - problem solved.
I'm fine either way, Amazon or Google. I have a feeling the streams themselves will remain less interfered with under Amazon. From a tech perspective both have vast infrastructures, though Google has the edge tech-wise regarding streaming, and would have probably been able to drive innovations more quickly.
Nintendo games have been a de facto genre all their own for years. I've found that most people clearly differentiate between "games" and "Nintendo" - with Nintendo encompassing not just their unique game stylings but also their entire ecosystem.
