Nice article. Unfortunately, it makes it clear that this game isn't for me.
I don't know or care about the character of Kamala Khan. I'm sure she's great but I wanted an Avenger's story, not some C-lister's perspective of an Avenger's story.
The game beyond the campaign seems shallow. I looked into the upgrade system and it seems generic and not flexible enough to make much a difference on gameplay.
I'll wait until this game is heavily discounted, and for the inevitable kind of future story content Avengers fans actually want (I.E. stuff that places the Avengers themselves front and center and not some random character that didn't even catch on in the comics).
@dmdcsm: It kind of broke the franchise, forcing Disney to rethink their strategy. It's sad after all of the momentum The Force Awakens had given to the franchise just to see it have the wind knocked out of it with the very next film.
A small number of man children, bigots, and misogynists complained about diversity (and the film is hardly diverse, being honest), but all Johnson does is deflect all criticism towards this - again and again.
So much was painfully contrived in this episode that it made me stop caring about the series. All I want to know now is how it ends so I'll know what GRRM had in mind (at least when first discussed with the show runners), because I'm not certain he's ever finishing the books.
The show is almost a parody of its own worst moments from the last four years. I might even skip next episode, get the highlights from Reddit and Twitter, then just watch the finale. I do have something I could be doing Sunday at 9PM, anyway.
