Not at all. I don't like Halo either, but there's so many other good games available for it. I didn't like Halo or Halo 2 either, but when 3 came around I figured I'd give the series another shot. Now I kind of wish I hadn't, ah well, another game for my collection I guess :).
I'm not too bothered by the lack of online support, but it wouldn't hurt the system to have more of it. Other than that it's missing good, more (and I know I'm getting flamed for this) 'mature' games, although they are beginning to line up. I guess what I'm saying is that more good games that aren't from Nintendo wouldn't hurt.
If you think Mario, Metroid & Zelda are worth enough to buy a console for, then yes. Other than those games there's also Resident Evil 4, which is a fantastic game and that alone is worth buying a console for (if you haven't had the chance to play it yet). If none of those games do anything for you then I'd say it's not worth buy a Wii quite yet. I bought one myself this week and so far I have no regrets :).
Let me put it this way, I've bought RE4 for GC, PS2 and now Wii. It's that good. It's one of the (if not THE) best game to have been released in the last couple of years.
When I played it I had some pretty inconsistant framerates, they'd go from fine to choppy every now and then, regardless of what was on the screen. Still playable, but very annoying =/.
