@Xristophoros i agree with the AI, it could of been a little better. i only noticed a couple tiny glitches but there was an update when i first started it so maybe that fixed some of the ones you saw. the platform sections are thankfully few and far between. but the key point is the enjoyability of the game. if a game has great gameplay then the small faults can be forgiven, im about 70% through and the storyline, graphics (for a ps3 game), atmosphere counteract the few minor downpoints. its definitely one of the best ps3 games ive played.

maybe the game is an 8. but my gripe about the score is when you compare it to other 9 out of 10 games on gamespot, TLOS is just as good or much better. taking uncharted 3 as an example since its a similar game, TLOS is leagues ahead of uncharted 3. the faults found in TLOS are 10x worse in U3. glitches, poor AI, considerably more repetitive platforming sections, and compared to TLOS the graphics in U3 are quite poor. the story wasnt anywhere near as engrossing as TLOS either. maybe because it was the third in the series it was becoming a little formulaic. to be consistant The Last of US should of scored higher or at least the same as Uncharted 3. i just cant help think that hes personally scored it a little lower to cause controversy... he knew it was a high scoring game everywhere else so knocked off a point just to be different from everyone else. its certainly worked in getting gamespot a bit of publicity....

@Zevvion @djb1203 yes i prefer the ps3 triggers. but only because of the analogue function. ive been playing a lot of GT5 lately and it makes a massive difference being able to more accurately control the accelerater. but im quite happy to use an xbox 360 controller too. ive got an xbox 360 controller for my pc so i switch between the two all the time. i dont really notice the difference anymore to be honest. i can play on the pc then fire up the ps3 and play on that straight after.

ive found that you have to hold the two controllers in very different ways. the xbox controller is more of a gun style grip. with the trigger...as a trigger, using the tip of my finger. whereas i hold the ps3 controller more in the palms of my hands and encompass the whole controller, and i lay my finger across the trigger so im almost using the whole of my finger. ive never had any problems with my fingers slipping off, i even tried it on purpose and couldnt do it. ive used the ps controller since the first playstation so nearly 20 years later the design is second nature to use.

i like the look of both new controllers a lot. i intend to buy the ps4 first. and if the new xbox controller is pc compatible ill be getting one.

@Zevvion ive always felt theyve had better triggers. plus theyre analogue which i find very usefull for racing games. i hope the new ps4 controller also has analogue buttons.

@Tripwolf nope couldnt disagree more. mouse is more accurate, yes. but thats it. but accuracy isnt everything. gamepads beat mouse and keyboard for comfort and usuability everytime. plus theres also the immersion. with a mouse and keyboard it just feels like youre typing a word document or clicking on a folder or something. theres no feeling of connection to the game. a decent controller with vibration can provide valuable feedback. the only games still bettter with a mouse are RTS.

@vivalatour yes there are different components. theres slightly different nand sizes for example. early ones have 256mb and later ones have 16mb. the way they handle the firmware is different so they dont require so much. there are other small differences too. thats why theyve managed to go from a power hungry 60gb ps3 to the more efficent super slims.

its a shame theyre not selling it as $500 anywhere else. if they did then people in the UK might agree with them. $500, thats roughtly £320.... somehow becomes £429 in the uk. but then sonys maths are the same $400 is £249 not £329. they cant blame VAT since thats 20% which still makes the total under the uk RRP for both.

@GrayF0X786 me too, i think the controller looks fantastic. not so much the console though lol. but things never look the same in pictures as they do in real life. itll look a lot better when you unbox it.

seems obvious its clickable, its a touchpad so the click will be the confirmation, like a left mouse button or touchpad button on a laptop.

it doesnt have to be a racing sim. just "feel" good. the thing ive always liked about GT is the feel of the car on the road. i dont like the floaty disconnected feel of most car racing games. i hope they have some kind of demo available when the ps4 comes out so we can try it for ourselves...
