@nkaiton @djb1203 i think thats what Gamespot are trying to imply. but if he has they would have him locked down tight with some non disclosure agreement. especially since theres not even been a rumour about a fourth entry. itll be interesting to see how naughty dog respond...
why would he know about a new uncharted game?... maybe hes behind the times and is refering to Uncharted 3. or is a bit confused and hes refering to The Last of Us. or maybe hes just assuming theres a new Uncharted on the way since theyve made 3 already. i dont think his statement in any way confirms the existance of Uncharted 4. or it could be like Deus Ex and turn out to be an iphone game!
i wonder if theyve announced this a bit too early. the ps4 also runs at 800mhz. i wonder if the sony engineers are now furiously retesting to see if they can squeeze a few extra mhz too!
@Vienreich @Axile11 what about from the original purchasers point of view? what if the game is shit and you want to get rid of it? youre stuck with a £40 piece of crap. if you buy something its yours and you can do what you want with it...including selling it on to recoup some of the cost...which you can then put towards the next purchase which goes back into the devs pockets...so theyre not so hard done by after all...
devs benefit indirectly from used games sales in many ways, ive bought quite a few used games on impulse because they where cheap and therefore low risk. and then enjoyed them enough to buy the sequels full price on day one. the devs would never of had my custom if it wasnt for the "evil" used game id bought. and a lot of people will buy DLC to go with their used game, so thats more money in the devs pockets.
ultimately if they made games people wanted to keep then there wouldnt be a used game market to worry about. if theres so many copies of their game in the used game stores then it doesnt really say much about the quality of their game.
maybe he should ask why theres a used copy of the game available to buy. if the game was so great then there would be less used copies available and therefore less "lost" revenue for developers. All other industries exist fine with a used market. the games industry is no different. does Ford expect a cut when someone sells on a car? does sony or microsoft expect a cut when someone sells on a ps3 or xbox? i just recently sold an old graphics card, does nvidia want a cheque in the post??
@ssdd_again @XT14 80millions sold but half of those are replacements for the RROD or flashed. lol. so those 30million consoles are probably a second or third console for one user. ive had 3 and only one has ever been online...
