It is true that the GS editors did NOT know this when they ranted on like they did, but consider that at the launch of the 360, did GS rake the 360 over the coals for its SEVERLY lack b/c issues? No they did not. So why the ps3, when it was clear that even if its B/C was gimped, it still would be equal to, or better than the 360's.
I have no problem with GS criticising the ps3. But do the same for all consoles, no double standards please.
2) Mods with pro-360 sigs. This is completely unnacceptable. i saw one Mod with a sig that said something to the effect of "with the ps3, view loading screens in 1080p" or some such nonsense. Mods are at least supposed to APPEAR to support all systems and be neutral, having something so blatanly anti-ps3 is wrong on so many levels.

Whether thats a mistake or not (im betting on the 'not') that is something that should ever happen. And instead of putting a retraction notice or something, they just added a small line of text to the article, that most people wont understand in context to the rest.
4) Reviews that make no sense.
Kameo-8.7 PDZ-9
Resistance-8.6 MGS3- 8.7 VF5-8.1
Resitance, Virtua Fighter 5 and MGS are worse than Kameo and PDZ? You'll have a hard times trying to convince a neutral gamer of that....(Kameo is actually the same as MGS3, but you see my point)
5) Just try to be positive about the ps3. There ARE somethings so be positive about GS!! So while bashing it about a relatively small issue of B/C (which is STILL better than the 360's) why didnt you ever focuse on both models having HDMI? The extra 40gb of room that you wont have on the 360? The motion control that works beautifully in FlOw and NHL 2k7? The wireless adaptor that you dont have to pay $100 for? The charge kit that you dont have to buy? The overheating that doesnt exist?
The ps3 has many negatives and so the the 360. I only see GS going out of there way to bash ONE of them
Please note that I didnt curse, i was respectful, and ALL im looking for here is some answers. This thread should not be locked, im not trying to flame, I'm merely questioning GS's model here. If this gets locked it wiull just prove even more how GS cant take criticism and will add fuel to the "GS sucks" fire. Please leave this open for those reasons, and thanks for listening!

I have all the NG systems. I have the highest hopes for the PS3's future. I don't see anything wrong with the critism from GS or many other media outlets. This should make Sony work even harder to make the product better. The hardware is impressive. We need better games, more games demo's and video on the network and the network needs to be faster and easier to use. It's early in it's life cycle but these are things that Sony is behind MS & Nentendo.

I agree. The PS3 is a very capable system, and the reviews from GS are pretty much on the dot, mostly because they don't give into the hype and they don't give the benefit of the doubt (they don't take things easy when rating a game).
In example, VF5. They didn't go easy on the ratings for the value factor because they simply didn't see online play. JeffG didn't know, and didn't have to know, about the fact that online might affect gameplay. Online is online, and a lack of it simply hurts the score. What I DO disagree on is the graphics score of VF5, because it looks amazing (should've got at least a 9 in graphics)...but what do I know? I haven't even seen the best looking game (GeoW) first hand yet!
Everyday I'm startin to admire Jeff more and more because he gets sh1t every day for his reviews, reviews that are wholly accurate. Yeah, I was outraged when Zelda:TP didn't get an editor's choice, and even more outraged that VF5 didn't get a score over an 8.5, but that's beyond the point.
BUT, I do agree with some users that GS is portraying PS3 in a negative light, especially in their news. But, those aren't reviews, and those aren't what the site was made to do. GS is also very slow...ever since GregK left...the GOD OF WAR review isn't even out yet...! WTH?!?! BUt, the reviews are accurate, and nobody can't complain about that, and use that as an excuse for GS's "bias."
As far as VF's lack of online playability, that should not have been a huge shocker. SInce when has ANY VF game had online? Did VF 4 have online?...Did Virtua Figher 4 Evo have online?....Yet, the reviews are lower than what it should have been just for the lack of online?...Really...Thin, people...Think. Like I said...The reviewer shouldn't have been shocked at the lack of online, if he was aware of the history of VF. As far as visuals...I'm right up there with you. It may not be a gem of a game, but it truly does set a starting standard to what other fighting games should be. In any case, the only thing that's getting on "my" nerves about this whole mess is the praise offered, yet the score not showing such praise. But, meh...What'cha gonna do.Actually, if you read some of the reviews, they actually contradict the score itself. Whreas, there may be praise for the particular game, yet such praise isn't proven within the score given. I am sure you've also noticed that as well. As far as the games are concerned, that isn't Sony's job. IT's the job of the games developers. Sony's job is just to keep the system up-to-date. Demos, games, and the like are provided by the developer of said game...Not the system makers. So, if you want to put blame on the slow release of games, put it where it actually belongs, and stop using Sony / the PS3 as a scapegoat. As far as the network's concerned...Now, there?...I actually agree with you.
