[QUOTE="0rin"]So apparently now any game that uses the ability to take cover behind an object is a gears of war ripoff? Are you crazy? Wow... that is just rediculous! it has virtually NOTHING in common with gears of war. I will give you tomb raider thing, but lucky for me, I never really played any of the Tomb Raider games to any kind of depth. (wasn't my thing at the time)

While I'll agree with you that it looks .. well, like they could have done better, I'm not going to pass judgement till i see more. my honest opinion, and I'll probably get razzed for this is... It looks SLIGHTLY underwhelming graphic wise (watching the trailers, I see a good amount of jaggies, this could be fixed by release, i hope it is), and the story isn't really up my alley either. It looks more like a playable movie than a game. :/ But There are far more things I like about it. The textures/overall graphics are rather nice, and it does seem like it could have a pretty decent indiana jones meets tomb raider feel/story.

It may have its flaws for now, but lets wait to see more before passing judgement.

if you've played gears and seen the gameplay of uncharted you would understand. Cover. Pop up. Shoot. Throw granades. even the damage system is exactly the same, you take too much damage (luck), the screen goes white so you hide for a while and you heath (luck) comes back. In gears you also have the choice to run up and chainsaw, which is replaced by melee in uncharted.

If we're going by that mentality, then Gears is a knock-off of Kill.Switch, with the exception of the health system, and the H2H combat system. Strange how no one recalls that game, especially whenbringing upGears.

Again, I wouldn't hold my breath on such a thing happening. If anything is changed it'll more than likely be the addition of rumble. But as for a drastic change, as with the changing of the placement of the thumb sticks, I seriously doubt that'll happen.

I highly doubt that a redesign, to resemble that "other console's" controller will ever come to pass. Personally, that "other" controller feels too bulky, to cumbersome. But again, that's just my own personal opinion. Whereas, Sony's controller feels natural in my hands. The control sticks are placed in the perfect position for "my" tastes.

As Albert Einstein once said... "Only two things are infinite; The Universe, and Human Stupidity... And, I'm not so sure about the former."

[QUOTE="biggamerhk"]Uh . . i dont think its all Sony's fault that the Ps3 is not doing as well as expected--it has a lot to do with the developers. bdhoff
You can't blame third-party developers. It isn't their responsibility to make the machine a success. Sony has to lead with great first-party games if they want to move product.

It isn't their responsibility to make the system a success. However, it IS their responsibility to squeeze as much of the system's power as they can, by way of their games. But, as has been shown, very few have actually dared to push their games as close to the limit as they possibly can. ex. Oblivion.

I've said it before, I'll say it again... What's one mans trash, is another mans treasure.

With this kind of mentality, Sony may have as well stuck with the PlayStation 2. Seriously. It isn't as if Sony is making anyone purchase the system. Advancements cost money. IF you aren't really ready to pay for advancements, then stick to what you can afford. I mean, afterall, it isn't as if the PS3 is going away. It's here to stay. And, just because it's at a high price range now, doesn't mean it'll stay that way forever. If one really wants this system, they can either; A.) Work hard to gain the money to purchase it. OR B.) Wait until the price drops low enough that they CAN afford it. However, one shouldn't expect that to happen anytime soon.

You do need to have the system on so that F@H can work. As for multitasking while folding, it's not possible.

What is there to understand? The purpose of F@H is to allow Stanford University to use the processing power of each PS3 connected to their main computer, to crunch some numbers, which in turn allows for their system to find cures for certain illnesses. That's pretty much all there is to it. It isn't something that's requiredof all PS3 owners to do. But, it does allow for peace of mind, to know that you are, at the very least, helping. Even if in some small, miniscule way.

eclipsed4utoo...Okay...Perhaps I over-exaggerated a bit. But, to think that they can live through a massive price drop, at this early a stage, assuming, of course, that the items used to create the system don't lower in price themselves, is truly foolish. But, again,I digress.Unless the price for the internal items for the system, unless it drops, there will not be a drastic drop in price for the system.
