I totally agree. The last 60$ game I bought that felt worthy of every penny was Skyrim. THAT was my money's worth. Everything else is a glorified night out at the theatre (minus the ending and backstory because that costs extra, hint hint DLC)

I have to say, I really relate to what you're talking about. I thought he was just some made up character supposed to instigate some sort of camaraderie at the start of the new game. BUT I learned Liara was the shadow broker in ME2 WITHOUT downloads. She does say this if you talk to her when you port in one of the planets (I don't remember which one) so... Yeah. That's the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way.

Do I think this woman should have been crucified? No. Do I think her idea was stupid? Meh, sort of, but who cares. The internet is a dangerous place, the anonymity it provides allows people to behave in ways you would rarely see in face to face dialogue, which is clearly exemplified in this poor woman's verbal lynching. The issue I actually have is with the author's explanation of " the creation of this two-way communication channel brings with it the illusion that players are entitled to affect the decisions directly related to them." 5-10 years ago I might have agreed. But you'd have to be extremely biased to not see that games have been evolving from a product to a service. Gamers have loyalties, favorites, and mindsets that need to be won over by developers and publishers alike. ESPECIALLY games that require subscriptions. Do you honestly think games like league of legends and world of warcraft would be able to thrive unless the community honestly felt that their input was being recognized and responded to? I'm not saying that our every beck and whim should be satisfied, but I think any game company that fails to recognize the desires of it's customers is a stupid and short sighted company.

Love seeing a flagship company get blasted for insolence and money grabbing. I hope they take a huge loss for everything they're doing/done with the vita.

@wavelength121 That's like putting in Goldeneye and saying "These controls suck! These weapons are dumb. Graphics are terrible!" You need to have a better perspective of looking at things, and see it not just as a typical FPS but as something deeper. If that's not your interest, then don't play it. There are games for people who just want shooting thrills, such as CoD and BF3. I'm not hating on those games, but there are story driven games and there are action driven games. Maybe research what you're buying before you shell out for what you may not understand.
