RDR2, like a lot of Rockstars games, are best played sporadically and over time... in my opinion of course. For instance, when I do play RDR2, I can play for 4-5 hours straight and not come back to it for days or even weeks.

Yes the controls aren't the very best but that has been the case for all Rockstar games. It seems the devs prefer realism over gameplay in a lot of ways which effects the controls. For instance, there's no human or animal that can turn on a dime, or go from standing to a full on sprint in no time at all. This is how the characters and horses move in game.... with weight and momentum. Even with aiming, everything was done to be relatively realistic but it seemed the developers knew that this would be a challenge which is why the aim assist is insane in this game. So by that token, yes there's a certain amount of acclimating you have to do to a Rockstar game but that doesn't detract from the experience as it is just that... an experience. The "payoff" as highly subjective. As it stands now, I have yet to be disappointed in a game conclusion from them

Two completely different games both arguably can be worth the $60 depending on what you like. So it's tough to answer.

As far as a game that would give you some serious longevity it would probably be RDR2 if GTAV is any indication

@henrythefifth: how you feel about Marston in RDR 1 is the exact opposite of how I feel about Arthur. Have you taken on the side missions and stranger interactions with Arthur yet? He seems to develop organically as the story evolves. Yes they both have their base outlaw personas but the sliver of humanity they provide with each mission is nice.

I agree with what someone else said. It’s interesting to see how things play out in this game since all we had in the first was John reminiscing on key events and not really doing a good job of that either

Still early on in the story but anyone else feel differently about John Marston as the game progresses? The dynamic in which he’s portrayed in RDR2 over RDR is captivating.

On the flip side, it seems Arthur Morgan as the ideal gang member and protagonist almost trivializes John entirely. I like how the tied these two games together through subtle dialogue

Funny cause most videos focus on the game during the day but it’s a beauty to behold at night or in inclement weather. The way the moon brightens the night sky when you’re riding out in the wilderness or how lightning etches out of the sky to the ground. First time I saw that I was blown away because I was just expecting the usual rain effects.

Anyone know if you can actually be struck by lightning??

Think I'll be going the dishonorable path and be the most lawless outlaw I can. I'm curious as to how being the bad guy will change the game around.

  • Class system that promotes teamwork and not one-man-army tactics
  • Large scale conquest battles
  • Varied infantry weapons that all feel unique and balanced
  • Land, air and sea vehicles to traverse the needed large maps
  • Progression/reward system that again promotes teamwork and playing the objective.

I'd definitely like to see an Iron Man game done well but it couldn't be restricted to one open world city like Batman or Spider-Man. It would almost have to be a game with different destinations like Destiny or Warframe.

Punisher would be good but I can't imagine it being anything other than a third or first person shooter

With a full time job, wife and kid, probably about 4-6 hours. Always have to sacrifice sleep for it while everyone else is sleeping
