[QUOTE="Skreltch"]

I have been using these keys to strafe for over 10 years like I said so my fingers go to that button automatically without thought. Maybe it would be easy for you guys to just automatically untrain your brains but for me thats just not going to happen. It would take a long long time for me to stop going to Q and E in the heat of battle when its time to strafe. I did not just spend around 1500 dollars to be frustrated, especially knowing it wouldnt take dice more than 5 minutes to fix the issue. If you play inverted or the other way around, imagine changing that and the frustration in getting used to it. You see an enemy up on a ledge, try to aim at him and the next thing you know you are looking at the ground shooting the dirt near your feet. That is how using A and D are for me. Also this isnt the point, do people really not think the dev should just fix it, I mean games 15+ years ago let us change our keybinds....

lightleggy

it would literally take you a week to get used to the change, some wonderful thing called "muscle memory". happens with all of us. sure if I would play inverted and a game doesnt has it, I would be pissed off, for a day or 2 until I finally get used to it. btw pretty much every game I have has different controller schemes, some games tell me to use F as action button, others tell me to use E, some use c to crouch and other ctrl, I still have no problem playing. you should just put A and D, your fingers will "automatically" go there if you use them for a day or 2, really, its not that hard to switch a controller scheme

People love to complain about anything, when there isnt much wrong they will dig deaper and deaper to find something.
It sucks but its just how humans are I guess, especially ones on SW.

No such thing.MFDOOM1983

This, its just a term to try and make yourself sound elite, and say im a hardcore gamer!!! That being said I would go as far to say that there are casual games like the shovelware we see on kinect/Wii etc. But how can you say, mario is less hardcore than COD? What because mario doesn't have blood and gore or realism it isnt hardcore? That sounds like elitist immaturity to me...

No. Because that's what keeps them in the headlines, or in the minds of gamers. Not that Steam and their other games aren't worth the attention in their own right, but Half-life's the big bomb, and everytime they're about to announce something it gets ten times the attention on the off chance that it might be half-life related.ManicAce

Never thought of it that way... But its a good point lol. Valve isnt the only company doing this though. Its like how everyone wants a FF7 remake but Square is holding out on their fans.

Ive lost hope of every playing another HL game, and I highely doubt it will come even after counterstrike 2 is released. Why? Because thats what everyone said after left for dead came out, then LFD2, then Portal 2, now dota and CS2 etc etc.

[QUOTE="supdotcom"]

offline mode? that works pretty well.

Kickinurass

Yeah, because I didn't try that :roll:

Tried four times. Log in. Start in offline mode. "Steam is not connected to the internet" or something like that, and then the only option was to hit the close button.

I eventually gave up and watched Kickass instead.

Well then its obviously not a problem with steam in general but something you did, cuzzz.... it works fine for everyone else...

[QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"]"The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting anti-piracy technology to work. It's by giving those people a service that's better than what they're receiving from the pirates." This caught me attention. Newell has one of the biggest DRM anti piracy softwares available, yet claims that anti-piracy measure don't solve anything? Remove the DRM from my steam games Newell and then I will agree with you. Until then, you're nothing but a hypocrite.MrSelf-Destruct
Steams not a bad DRM, in my opinion. You download a game and play it. No entering codes or anything (unless required by games that use GFWL or such). Play it once online and you can play it offline all you want after that. Needing Steam to play a Steam game isn't much different than needing an Xbox to play and Xbox game. The only time I have a problem is when you get a game from steam and the publisher of said still requires you to jump through their own hoops. That's when the DRM gets to be too much. If all I had to do was have the Steam client open, I'd have zero complaints. As far as what Gabe is saying here, I totally agree with him. I've never purchased as many games as I have since joining Steam. I haven't considered the alternative in years.

Pretty much this, I buy almost all my games on steam now, asides from console exclusives. Theres nothing wrong with steams "DRM" if you can even call it that, its the same as needing a ps3 to play ps3 games. But like ive already seen in this thread, theresstill people that will **** and complain about everything until its 100% the way they want it even though its usually unrealistic and selfish of them to consider it that way. Theres gotta be a compromise somewhere between publishers and the customers and steam is by far the best one.

Dark souls has fantastic boss design and some fantastic art design. The lack of any significant story (which it isn't meant to have) whilst refreshing, sometimes left things a little disjointed.

The Witcher 2 wins out for me (and I have yet to complete it). The world is fantastic, along with the art design, and Geralt is up there as one of the better protagonists this gen, personally.

The only reason whitcher 2 wins of dark souls for me is pretty much the story also. Imo any rpg needs a story. Dark souls is more of an MMO, where its mostly just fighting and getting better equips/spells etc, with some story to fill in the gaps. Not that its a bad thing, I just prefer the whole cutscenes and epic storylines.
