@tforbes: There's a difference between feedback and DEMANDING stuff because you're a fan. Feedback is offering suggestions about what could be improved slightly. Demanding is starting a petition because the concept art of Diablo 3 didn't sit well with you. You can have strong feelings but at the end of the day you're not on the board and the developers don't have an obligation to answer to you. And son if you're getting emotionally attached to a virtual self I think those gamers need to get out more and get a gf. What does that even mean? They're just games. They attacked her on her twitter account. Its one thing to be called biggest_loser and have megatron send you a death threat on a forum. Its another to go to a public space like that, where everyone including her family perhaps, can see it.
@Lucca202: You specifically singled out homosexuality rather than just an overflow of cutscenes. That I would have understood. She might have written a bad comic book but so what? We know she can write from the quality of Dragon Age. You're clutching at straws by trying to say she's a bad writer from one text.
@Lucca202: I think you're being really unfair. Just think about this, regardless of who she is married to would you really put someone in the job of writing an RPG, heavily dialogue and character based, if they couldn't write? C'mon son. And excess homosexual relationships? What games are you citing there? That tells me you have other issues, insecurities and biases against this author.
@Lucca202: The point is that you have the options to use those skipping buttons or NOT. It works in LA Noire I thought it was bizarre that you could skip an action sequence but you can also turn the prompts off. You don't have to do it. Its customisable so whats the issue? It is a mistake to think that they're going to take gaming away from you or something. And I think you're really crossing the line with that last remark. You had a sensible argument going till that point. Clean it up mister!
@tangyzesty: I agree with the cesspool remark lol, but has it really always been this bad? I am genuinely asking here whether fanboyism was this extreme during say the 90s. I thought this would have been because gaming has expanded and because of those damn forum boards lol
@swoosh18: She wouldn't have to write the vagina comment if people weren't being such dicks to her in the first place. So no, she didn't deserve it. You should have a think about what you're saying.
I'm glad someone posted an article like this. The issue needs more attention because its not just this case. Self-entitlement is the correct phase and its been going on for a while now. Look at the why some gamers respond to Valve of all companies. Trying to boycott their games without real knowledge (L4D2) or DEMANDING that they have information (HL3). Now this rubbish, and you really wonder what the reception would have been if this author was a bloke. Its a gender war. The 'boys own club' of the Internet doesn't respond well to females in games unless they're seen as overtly "hot". Bad luck fellas! Gaming is a much bigger pond now than your dusty ol' basements!
Its not brain surgery what the problem is here: go back to making the character an assassin instead of all this other garbage like siege weapons and platforming. What is Ubisoft's rush? I mean this is a popular franchise and an extra year of development would not be fatal. I thought Brotherhood was very disappointing. Light on story and introducing new features that were totally undercooked.
