Hi Gamespot staff. Can you please be more careful with how you handle spoilers?

I just logged onto the homepage and saw the headline and thumbnail.

The show was only released a few days ago and I would have liked to have seen this moment myself without it being revealed prematurely like this. Thank you.

Looking forward to whatever he does next. Get Out was an excellent movie and Us was a solid follow-up.

@biggest_loser: I don't see developers throwing tantrums all over the internet, behaving like entitled toddlers, attacking people, using misinformation to anger others and recruit them to the tantrum and even inventing conspiracy theories to explain why they haven't been given what they wanted.

Naughty Dog did nothing wrong making LOU2. Nothing. They made the product the way they wanted and hoped everyone would like it. That some people didn't would be fine if those people hadn't also behaved like complete and utter frickin a-holes. And that's not to say that everyone who was disappointed or criticized the game behaved that way, but a lot of people did, and those are the "haters" who can go eff themselves.

And here's a clue, champ: if you have somehow attributed a bad attitude to a developer because they didn't make their game the way you wanted it or would have preferred, you're projecting.*

* setting aside the wrath of god that should be visited upon things like loot box cash grabs, etc., but those aren't at issue here with LOU2.

We're on the same side. I agree with you.

Gamers are acting like entitled children and ND did nothing wrong. They took huge risks that paid off in a big way.

@asultana121x: Nah. It's more like a portion of the gaming community thinks they get to go to whatever restaurant they want and then demand that they be served something that's not on the menu.

Don't like the story or something else? Fine. But you weren't personally wronged as a consumer by them failing to write the story you would have preferred in terms of who lives or dies or what the ending is or whether a character has a certain orientation or whatever. Grow the hell up. They don't owe you anything and you're not entitled to anything. You got your $60 dollars worth even if you didn't like it.

Holy Moses. He thinks that developers have a bad attitude compared to gamers? Hahaha! He's got to be kidding, surely.

It felt almost exhausting to play the game amid the storm while avoid spoilers. I often had to stop myself and think: "THIS is what they hate? Really?".

I feel like they missed out by doubling down on wanting to justify their conviction that the product is irredeemable following a few creative decisions that they disagreed with. In the end it made people emotional and that was what it strived to achieve. Of course it did not follow my hearts desire but that is what can make these stories special, else we get more of the forgettable, bland endings of games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider. At the very least this game is talked about and will be remembered.

The story may not appeal to you, and that is fine, but your emotional response is misguided to the creator rather than to (at least first try to) relate those feelings to the characters in the world.

Great comment. I finished the game recently and finally spent some time reading comments on Youtube. Many people seemed to have quickly dismissed the whole game after only playing through to the major event in the first three hours.

I wish they could understand the moral ambiguity of what the game was trying to achieve.

I’m very disappointed in Neil. He’s demonstrating that he cannot distinguish criticism from haters. Are there people who just hate on this game? Of course. He’s also well within his rights to create whatever story he wants. I just fear that he will learn nothing from consumer feedback and won’t make anything truly fantastic anymore as a result. It’s a shame because he’s very talented.

Not saying that you did this, but sending death threats to the developers and voice actors is not criticism. Its bullying. Those people are haters.

Also, consumer feedback? Remember when they tried that with The Rise of Skywalker? It was a focus-tested mess and under-performed. I prefer projects that take huge risks like this than pure fan service.

Thought the ending was pretty much perfect.

Ellie learnt to let go because Joel gave her a second chance at life and there was nothing she could do to reverse that.

Her revenge cost her everything but her soul. She still has her life ahead of her to redeem herself.

Surprised I haven't seen many people talk about the game as a cycle of mercy as much as the cycle of violence.
