Cliffy B. is balls crazy sometimes. While games may have gotten easier than say Battletoads on the NES, is that such a bad thing? That game was frustrating as h***. Also, Cliff is the king of putting in numerous difficulty settings in games, some of which are ludicrous is playing by yourself. Lastly, that comment about how games are more linear than before? What the crap is he talking about? The "open sandbox" style of games is huge right now. GTA, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 2, Deus Ex, etc.
Trailers are so misleading. They make every game look cool. Yes, that looks sweet, but I probably said the same thing about Lost Planet 2. Boy what a disappointment that was.
I don't see what was wrong with the original Splinter Cell formula. If games like Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory are such amazing games (as GS said about them), why is it that developers are wanting to break that formula?
That's so frustrating to know that a game like Brink is shipped knowing that it is buggy. I don't have live, so I can't get day one patches. What happens if a game that doesn't have a significant online portion is shipped to stores equally glitchy? S.O.L.
I don't really care that there isn't any real difference in how a game plays out based on my moral decisions. Invariably, I end up picking the moral high ground and being a "good" guy. I don't do it because I want to see how the game ends based on my moral choices along the way. I pick the "good" guy side because I feel good about the choice at the time. If I am rewarded for it great, if not, well at least I don't feel crappy about doing good.
