Thanks for bringing back these types of award to GS Danny. I miss them a lot from years ago when GS used to have a big article/segment of the website devoted to the Dubious Awards. GS should bring that back.
@loafofgame @bluefox755 I'm not looking to insult, but a genuine question. If video games as a story telling medium can't make you feel emotions, then do movies and/or books fail to do the same thing for you as well? If so, okay. But if those other two can cause an emotional response, why not video games?
At the start of the video I was going to post something like "It's gotta have a great story first, and decent gameplay second." I think I'm shifting my opinion lately. Yes, absolutely, I need some kind of story to give me a reason to keep playing. If the story is so over the top bad, then I typically have a hard time enjoying the game even if the gameplay is good. Like I said though, I don't think I'm as story focused as I like to think I am. For example, I just finished Mark of the Ninja, and I can't really say the story was all that compelling. Basic revenge stuff. But it was the smoothness of the gameplay that kept me excited about that "next level."
@loafofgame @beutlich99 No, it's not the non-interest in cars. Danny could have picked any genre to explore the topic with, and I would have had the same response. My "issue" is with the lack of supporting evidence. I might completely disagree with an editorial/vblog/etc., but I will always better understand that person's point/reason when it is backed up by more than 1 or 2 anecdotal stories.
@UltimateBastard Then he should postpone his "release date" until he has had the time to make a higher quality episode. I mean that's pretty much the industry standard at this point right?
