But which friend determines what all of his/her other friends will end up buying? I get what you're saying. I bought Halo 2 because my friends were all in to it. I'm simply brainstorming though about how it came to be that all my friends had it. I mean at some point, nobody had it; therefore, there couldn't have been any friends to influence that first purchase. At what point does it snowball into the bandwagon effect Danny is highlighting?
I'm not trying to be a d*** or anything here, but almost nothing that I read makes this game sound like an AC game. It sounds great, don't get me wrong. I'm all for a pirate "sim." But an AC game has . . . you know . . . assassinations. The review didn't mention those. Are they in the game?
Still not gonna play it. I don't have any strong reason other than it just doesn't look that interesting to me. Might it be the most enjoyable franchise ever to me? Sure. Am I cool with missing it? Yep.
@zeusbark Agreed. Come down hard and fast on users commenting in ways that are intentionally insulting to another user. It's different to critique and offer a rebuttal to an argument. It's just plain spiteful to have your argument be the equivalent of "yeah, well, you're stupid."
I have only played Fallout 3, so it was great to see some of the original screenshots and gameplay. It put into context a lot of what Bethesda chose to do and why. Thanks Danny.
Why should linear cause a game to get a lower score? CoD is linear and gets high scores. Bioshock as well. Halo etc. If the game is going for a well crafted linear game style, then shouldn't the game be judged on those merits?
Looking forward to it. I'm playing through Enemy Unknown right now, and I'm excited to give this a shot. The idea of a tactical squad shooter always makes me excited for a new game. I loved the Brothers in Arms games for that reason. Future Soldier as well. I hope this is able to be as good/better.
