While I do agree that I wish some games didn't end, I can't relate to not finishing a game. If the game can initially get me hooked, I will for sure see it through to the end.
Being punished for exploration is reason enough for me to not spend money on it. I'm not huge into RPG's in the first place, but when I do pick one up, I like to explore every little place possible. I like being lost in the world and being able to go about it at my own pace. If I want to feel harried along from battle to battle, I'll play Gears.
That was so depressing Danny. In a good way . . . sort of. Over the last five years, some of my favorite games that I have played have been XLA downloads. You talking about how they die with my system was sad. I've known it would happen, and if I'm honest, I'm not likely to play super old games after a while. But knowing that I have a chance to play them via backwards comp. is nice. That's one reason I'm a little miffed at MS for not having ANY form of BC with XBone. On the flip side I don't think I have paid more than $7 for any XLA title. I wait for sales, so I'm probably buying one every quarter year (just over $1.50) per month then. No monthly gaming "netflix" service is going to be that cheap, so I'm not likely to financially support something like the new PS service.
Mchale is a dbag anyway. I've never quite understood why "he's soooo funny." No, Danny, we can't ignore it. Like @OHGFawx said, I am knowledgeable and I DO give a shit. People (general public) need to stop seeing video games as "games." It's a bit cliche at this point, but they are an interactive medium. I honestly don't understand how many people can't see video games as a different version of a book/movie/TV show/cartoon/comic/short story/etc.
