It's disheartening that such a large portion of people on this list don't actually produce goods, and many don't even add value to society at all, but instead function as extractors.

Gabe is not in that category, he does provide value in his distributive services, but he still does not actually produce goods.

I wish we lived in a world where production of goods was more financially incentivised, rather than extraction of wealth.

You can even see it in our industry of video games. Games continue to move more and more towards being focused around extracting continuous amounts of money through microtransactions.

The design goals in games more and more are becoming "how do we get a player to purchase virtual goods continuously?" as opposed to "how do we make a product that someone will enjoy enough that they'll buy it?"

Valve has even been pretty open with this being their philosophy. Why would they create HL3 when they could just create some more virtual goods for Dota2 or TF2. They viewed Portal 2 as a failure because it did not have a successful microtransaction system (even though the game itself was popular and highly rated).

Mobile games essentially already show us the dystopia ahead for the video game industry. No interest at all in creating a compelling game. They are 100% designed around how the psychology of the player can be exploited to purchase a microtransaction. Many of these people who push this model came directly from the casino industry where they learned these ways of exploiting people's emotion.

None of what drives the design is about the joy the player derives from the experience, it's only the pressure it can place on the player to hand over money.

This is why I'm disappointed by this news. Gabe making that much money while not actually producing anything is a sad representation of the gaming industry's future, as well as the future of our entire society.

First of all, the glitches are the best part of WWE games.

Second of all, the counter focused gameplay is an accurate reflection of how wrestling matches flow. Someone dominates for a while, the opponent counters something and then they dominate for a while.

Third, terrible dialogue is what makes the promo system awesome.

And fourth, simply making CAWs and watching their entrances is enough fun to at least warrant a 7 on that alone.

Even New Hartford whale man Eddie Makushka could put together a better review than this.

I call for an audit of your review!!

I like how all the nutjobs who were so upset by the praise for the diversity of the Overwatch characters are still on here trying to explain how 35 million players 17 months after release is really just an illegitimate product of hype and people don't *actually* like the game.

Remember that MOBA game that came out around the same time and how they were so convinced that it was much better than Overwatch and convinced the worse reviews were product of an "SJW" conspiracy? Lmao, I love these guys.

If this can encourage them to continue to update the game like Blizzard does with Overwatch, I don't mind.'

I would have preferred that gameplay modifying loot not be through these microtransactions though. If it were just emotes/skins and stuff, that'd be much more acceptable.

Wait, they fired him instead of electing him president of the United States?

Perhaps US voters could learn something from this...

Very good game. The angry critics here had their minds made up long ago.

I always get some pleasure when a ripoff of another ripoff launches.

Can't wait for someone to ripoff Fortnite now

PUGB looks like a rushed knockoff of this game.

It's nice to see some polish. This long line of Arma II survival mods/clones is getting really old. All have the same bad UI, poor controls and outdated graphics. Let's move forward, forward to Fortnite!!

I hate FUT and feel like the game has made no progress because of it. Pro clubs and career haven't had meaningful changes in years.

I wish they'd just create their own separate F2P FUT game and leave FIFA to actually improve its game modes.

I'll play the 10 hour demo from EA access, but I think this may be the first FIFA in the last 13 or so years I may skip purchasing. I just can't justify supporting this focus on their trashy microtransaction-based FUT mode.

Please, for the love of God, separate that unbearable FUT from actual FIFA (You know, the game where you actually play with actual teams in actual leagues )
