"Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality?"
That was the big question in episode 1. They abandoned that question midway through season 1 when Maeve just turned up her intelligence and instantly knew everything. The show destroyed itself at that point.
Lost all credibility when they unironically made a sequel.
You lose your edge when you become the thing you're making fun of.
Maybe if the movie acknowledges it sold out and makes fun of itself, that could work, but it sounds like they're just using the same old superhero movie assembly line.
What a disappointing fall from grace. Because I thought the first one was good. Especially how it showed that you can have edgy/offensive humor without having to resort to damaging negative stereotypes. It was quite a progressive film which included a diverse, interesting cast (and yet it somehow escaped criticism from the "anti-PC" crowd)
