They have had over 30 years to improve, yet slowly but surely move toward console gaming and porting titles to the PC in a manner best described as shoddy... terrible controls, wonky frame rates and outright broken game play where buyers sit for weeks sometimes waiting for a patch/fix to make it playable.

The trend is to punish players for something a company can't fix... piracy? Take away PC games and code for consoles. Bots? Remove content to gimp them and leave players with nerfed rewards, or none at all. Buy a game on iPad and pay $10, buy a game on PC and it's $60... and it's broken and riddled with copy protection.

Anyone that doesn't see the underhanded manner all the companies have used to force PC gamers to consoles are living under a rock, you end up feeling like a dog at it's owners side waiting for scraps from the table... don't complain, after all, you are getting the game in 'some' form, right? Be grateful PC cretin.

If I had a dollar for every game and producer that claimed no P2W on their game but later shoved it down the throats of loyal players... I'd be dining on steak & lobster tonight.

@greenpolyp @Zilched My point was that people often pay 100's $ for a video card upgrade, the new 3DS is whole new system, and you'd certainly upgrade a video card long before your new 3DS.

I will be upgrading. To those who slam Nintendo for improving the system over time, consider, many of you have spent $200-300 for a video card to upgrade your PC, so let's get real, this is a very nice upgrade from the present system for the price. Mine is the Zelda special edition, I won't be trading it or selling it to buy a new one, it will be like a second controller for multiplayer games when guests arrive for some gaming.

Also, my 3DS has some of the best games I've played on any system, the prices are right on new titles and the older games with reduced prices are like a treasure chest of awesome... they maybe older games to some, but most are new to me!

An excellent game that shows you don't need to be a mega-monster company to produce a well-designed and fun game. Plenty to find and do in this game, my only complaint is that sometimes it feels like you are overwhelmed with mobs, yet there is always a way to deal with them, it just might take a few deaths to figure it out.

I give this effort an 8/10 also... very accurate score IMHO.

I had trouble finding my way through this review... if you give a game a 3/10, get to the point, don't lead me around the bush looking for why it sucks, out with it man!

When you see those posting that combat is 'broken' you might want to consider that you have to earn the combat moves, of course it's slow and clunky to start, so is anyone who doesn't know to fight yet.

Here's the simple lowdown on this game... it's more of Gothic 2, less Risen 1, the dialog, the quests, the NPC's and the 'feel' of the game, you can tell they spent a lot of time making this game for those who enjoyed the old title and want more.

I'm about 50% through the game, hard to stop playing, you know the feeling, just one more quest, one more cave, one more island... and it's 6am.

If you liked Gothic 2, Gothic 1... and yes, Risen 1, then you do yourself a disservice by passing this game by, there is a lot of game play and nostalgic fun to be found in this title, it'd be a shame to miss it.

@lewishim666 @Zilched Thank you for making my point... some just don't know when to be quiet, you are among them, take care, hope you find more people to insult, it seems very important to you to belittle others.

@lewishim666 @Zilched I'm guessing you specialize in insults and trying to troll gamers that post an honest opinion, I'm also guessing you are a fanboy of this game who feels the need to insult or belittle anyone who disagrees with your opinion, so let's really entertain the folks and see you let loose with more Jr High rants and insults, maybe this time I'll crack a smile, maybe not.

This game met my expectations, I expected... a crappy port that had a clunky remapping keys which restricted you to keys you would NEVER use, and after you spend 20mins trying to find suitable keys you search for that save & exit only to find every logical key resets the POS and exits. Then there is the 'online play', which from what I see is a trolls delight... I was not on 1min when I had some idiot dancing around me, heckling me with thrusts and jumping around me... yeah, like I want to play a game like that, so I went into options to shut down trolls, no obvious way to do this, so... I wasted 50 bucks for now.

Why sell me a PC game that can only be enjoyed with a controller? Why release a game after the previous PC effort was ripped by critics for this exact flaw?!

To me this 'game' is the nail in the PC coffin, when a reputable company craps something like this for the PC and passes it off as a honest effort, the platform is dead. RIP
