@saturatedbutter To be fair, from what I've seen of the leaked gameplay footage it looks tonnes better than the previous titles and I don't just mean graphically.
So basically, if you are in the majority of people who had a Wii before the Wii U, stick with the original and if you are one of the few people who doesn't own the original, just pick it up cheap and play that instead.
@marcjobs @Zepthire95 @zerofrust Yeah, that's true too. Even if the game would have ran on the engine looking like that, it's not good if 90% of people who would have played it on PC couldn't run it well.
Completely different kind of game but I think its for that reason that the Sims games also don't have state of the art graphics. A good chunk of the Sims fanbase probably only play games casually and would only have a standard spec laptop or desktop. If the game won't run on the PC's of the target market, it doesn't matter how good it looks.
@GameFan1983 @wa128 Yup, I built my PC 2 years ago and I can run it smoothly on medium/high and terribly on ultra. Unless I want to upgrade my PC for one game (everything else I play runs fine on max) then console is the way to go for me.
Edit: Realised this comment might not make sense unless I point out that I illegally maintained Watch_Dogs just to see how it would run.
@zerofrust @Zepthire95 @marcjobs But they wouldn't have had to develop 2 games if the game ever really looked like it did in the E3 demo. If it was a real demo then their work with the graphics was already done at that point. I believe the demo was just running scripted events (the crash especially) in a small section of the city and that the engine couldn't handle the whole city at once with those graphics. Obviously I could be completely wrong but thats what I think.
@zerofrust @marcjobs Yeah seriously. If the game every truly existed looking how it looked at E3 2012, they could have let it look like that on PC at max settings. Somehow I'm doubtful that the full game ever ran looking like that
