Turok and Split/Second were Disney's best shot at developing a solid gaming division. When those failed to compete with CoD, or whatever their inflated expectations likely were, they grabbed their ball and went home. Their return to hock cheesy trash competing with grizzled industry veterans could not be salvaged by the best known character roster alone. Hopefully they stay gone this time. Activision puts out some poor Marvel games, but most of them are good, and definitely better than the alternative.
I've been approaching this one very cautiously, because it gives off a Spore vibe. My hype was totally unchecked that time and it came back to bite me, after only enjoying the game for a few days before deciding I saw all it had to offer and wasn't worth repeating. This game's complexity appears in places that aren't directly entertaining in any way, so "a lot to see and nothing to do" is the current feeling I have. No Man's Sky is a great idea, but being unable to construct things or have a greater purpose ruins it for me. I was still on the fence until I watched the leaked footage... It's Morrowind without quests or a story? Maybe? Here's hoping I am wrong and it blows minds!

I haven't loved Nintendo since the Gamecube. I still kept buying their hardware, hoping for a change. Everything they did the past couple of console generations bored me (and I enjoy Hearts of Iron, so that's saying something). I'm personally tired of all the stupid gimmicks... I thought the NX was going to be a return to form, but as the rumors began leaking out, I took them as warning signs that it wasn't going to be for me after all. I am not saying the NX will be bad, but at this point it doesn't appear to be straying from the novelty course.
Nintendo is like a new kid at school who keeps trying to make everyone laugh, but if he'd just chill out for a minute he'd be more successful at making friends. Sony and MS didn't steal customers away, Nintendo failed to keep them. I hope the NX ultimately becomes legendary and that my worries are for nothing, but they have done nothing to earn my confidence for two generations.
Battleborn: a game with a campaign that doesn't work offline and one player for every dollar of the price tag online. When it failed hard right out of the gate, they needed to begin a switch over to F2P with bonuses for those who bought it. Even then, it's probably too late. It's not that anybody even hates it, it's just a massive wave of indifference. Time is of the essence, but the publisher couldn't be bothered.
I liked the game, and I'm not even a LotR guy. The nemesis system was fun once you hit the halfway point and I got my money's worth. The whole reviewing industry is a sham anyways. The scores are heavily slanted to the top half of the scale to the point 5/10 technically is not average anymore, 7.something is. That's sort of the point of an average to begin with, to be right in the middle...... All the sucking up to publishers or hype boner afflictions busted the system.
