Another issue I have is with how the journalist and message board community is handling this. Websites and message boards are all ignoring her social media posts while making Nintendo the bad guy. Sexism in gaming is a hot button issue that gets clicks, but I feel as if some folks are trying to control the message.
NeoGaf - There was a thread about this very topic. At one point a Mod came out and said that if any user was being a "Gaf Detective" by posting or referring to her social media posts would be "dealt with." So banning users for posting facts sure seems like controlling the message to me.
Giant Bomb - They briefly brought this topic up on the latest Bombcast. They had no problem talking about how toxic the gamer community is. My issue is that, while Brad did say she made questionable comments on social media, they didn't address those comments or even read them. They quickly brushed his comment on this aside and moved on. They portrayed a completely one sided argument here. That again is controlling the message.
So we have 2 HUGE outlets going out of their way to make this a gender issue. I have a problem with this. Especially when a quick Google search of her Twitter posts paints a completely different story. I am all for women's equality in gaming production, journalism or enjoyment of the hobby. But not like this.
Yes it does become infuriating when the same people who were defending her choose to ignore the hard evidence against her especially when they were the ones professing that there was no proof she supported pedophilia (there absolutely was).
