@moldyspud the 180,000,000 isn't profit you forgot that the budget, is only the equipment to create the game, there are the royalty of the engine developer(yes they get royalty), the royalty of the system the game run(Sony, Xbox, Windows etc...), the payment for the publisher, the royalty of the store that is selling the game(yes they get royalty too) and the importing and licensing taxes(national and international), and the salary of the workers(the development isn't just a single guy working 24/7), and the production(this and the store royalty only applies if the game is retail, the rest applies for everything digital distribution or retail, and this is the cheapest thing to pay) and after all is done, the remaining is the profit...NO, there are the taxes, when that is done, the remaining money goes to the company to become the root of a new game.

digital distribution directly competes with retail, if you release a product in digital distribution and on retail you reach the very same amount of consumers that you would if released in only retail and pay even more, to have a risk of being ripped and pirated. An example? Just look at movie and series industry, Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, they didn't help at all, there are so many ripps on internet, companies creates a lot of DVD, BD of the series and movies these sites runs, but each year they sell less, the only ones profiting are these sites.

Let me understand this, developers create DLC 's for the sake of making people stay with the game longer and don't resell, right? That's stupid, if a person buys a game and wants to pass on, is manly because they need the money for other things like more games and the such, in this case the gamer wont care about the DLC in first place, and the only ones that pays for the DLC are the ones that wish to stay wish the game. And people who buy used hardly will pay for DLC either, since they need to save money or don't have enough money, after all people buy used for manly two reasons(there are others reasons but those two are the main ones): 1) don't have enough money to pay for the new game. 2) its difficult to find, its a rare game. most people is in the first category, so its very logical that they wont have enough money buy a DLC.

I have played a lot of games with a low score, and I don't regret buying, playing, and I don't plan selling it neither, the score helps to know about the game, but the real experience comes from us gamers playing. What have been scaring people lately is the excessive price of games, so 6.0 will scare plenty of people now.

And I still think a "new generation" is too early, they gonna suffer a lot because of this, since most of their consumers are getting into the current generation now, they won't gonna have money to spend like this. Just look at Vita and the 3DS both of them sucks.
