[QUOTE="LiquidOcelot145"]really guys, can we be honest here? think about this, this game took 11 years to make from its predecessor. now at the time, both star craft and blizzard with are the top of the RTS market. but after playing the beta and trying it out on the room mates computer, i am surprised so many people have fallen to another "scheme" by blizzard. seriously, think about this. if you look at some of todays modern PC gaming such as crysis, or Demigod, Warhammer dawn of war 2, the graphics, gameplay, terrain and AI are almost all outdated by 6-7 years by todays PC standards. blizzard could have released this game 3 after the first and it would have performed EXACTLY the same. the only reason why its out now is so blizzard can clear them out off the warehouses to make room for Cataclysm. i;m not saying its not a good game, but really, with a 11 year waiting time, there is no way blizzard can be proud of this game. i know for all the fanboys out there who may not want to hear this, but blizzard is dead, and has been for a long time. all i;m asking of this community is think "was this really worth 11 years?" millerlight89
Um yea you keep thinking that. I never played the first and am no fanboy of this game, but you are 100% wrong. I have never played such a polished, fantastic, enjoyable game in a while. A game that I have a blast with while I get my butt kicked is nothing but epic.

Yeah I'm also having a blast with the game, even though I still get my butt kicked playing the computer on medium:( I played the first Starcraft but didn't play it long enough too get good at it. I just knew the basics. If there's any new players, or anyone who doesn't mind playing with a noob, pm me.

I'm liking the game so far. I've only played a bit of the campaign and I tried out versus against the computer. I'm horrible at versus, I got my but handed to me on medium difficulty:(

So I took the day off tomorrow...... :D

adamosmaki

Ohh I did too!

I think i'm getting sick tomorrow and i have to spend the day closed at home

I'm on my holidays from work for a week. It just happens that this game is out at the same time, which makes it even better:)

I was a casual SC player but that's going to change with SC2. Can't wait.

Plasma -

Pros, Best picture quality, deepest blacks, best bang for buck when the size gets big, image burn-in/retention a thing of the past.

Cons - Electricity hungry, heavier than the other two.

...................................................

LCD -

Pros - Very power efficient, great for smaller sizes, fast response time.

Cons - More expensive as the size goes up, black doesn't look as exactly black (dark grey).

....................................................

LED -

Pros - Basically LCD but even more power efficient, will last a lot longer than plasma.

Cons - Most expensive of the 3 (increases with price exponentially as size goes up).

Hope that helps a bit :)

Actually plasmas have a better response time than lcd's.

No, it would not be "gangsta". And all the kind of of games you mentioned already exist for the Wii. Get a life.

Wow dude chill. There's no need to tell him to get a life. All he's saying is that, it would be awesome to have a Yoshi game on the Wii. That would be awesome indeed. Yoshi's Island is one of my all time favorite platformers.

You can go the stealth route if you want, without using the M&E system but it's very basic compared to the other games. No more whistling or throwing objects at bad guys to lure them your way. The stealth meter is also gone, and is replaced with the screen going black and white to show that you are hidden. You can't hide bodies and I think the level design was somewhat boring also. Oh yeah the night vision goggles, are replaced with sonar and sucks when you're moving because it gets distorted. It's a good game but the stealth gameplay is very basic.

Cool, can't wait too play it. As for Supreme Commander 2, I heard that it isn't as good as the first one. I'll definitely check it out though once I'm done with part one.

So how's the learning curve for this game? I just built a new pc about two weeks ago, so I can finally play this game! From all the gameplay videos I saw, this game looks epic and complicated at the same time. Should I play the regular vanilla Supreme Commander first, or just start out with the expansion, Forged Alliance?

I'm on the third echelon level right now and just can't understand what they did to Splinter Cell. How can they take away a poopload of gameplay elements, and just add one new feature, the M&E system. No more stealth meter? I hate the screen going black and white. There's many more things about this game I hate. The stealth gameplay is stripped down. But the important thing is that I'm having fun with Conviction and still have to try co-op. So Gamespot's score is about right.

[QUOTE="SmokieX"]

I guess I'll leave vsync on then for my games. But can you guys explain why movement doesn't feel smooth when I'm gaming?

29121994

If i were you, i'd just get used to screen tearing as i have because it can make a lot of games lose a fair bit of performance, also it might just be that you're constantly looking for lag in your games which is why it might seem that way. I had similar suspicions when running games until i ran fraps and saw that i was getting normal frame rates.

I forgot to metion that I also used fraps and the fps were consistent. It's just not smooth when I'm moving the mouse around.
