@Tauu A lot of people are waiting for next gen even if it means not much changes. Better visuals are the driving force until this train derails.

Reasons for. Better AI radiant AI and the whole area of AI can be used in games to make the games different. BUT AI takes a back seat to graphics.

Physics, where physics takes an important integrated aspect in the game. IN reality I have never seen a car continue to burn as long as I have in games, and I have never seen a car I could not climb over yet in games a car can block your advancement.

YOU could take a tree and make a boat but in games you can ONLY do it if its part of a game.

Voice synthesis. being able to have a conversation with an NPC that is not a pre made though bubble. Interaction verbally is a long way off but a lot closer if it was a focus.

NEXT GEN should be .... NEXT GEN and not an update to this gen full of the same games we are already playing with better graphics, and small upgrades to the rest of the aspects of gaming.

@TheZeroPercent @deadpeasant @BilkeLegenda He is not first part developer. He is not beholden to Sony. AND his statements are in general for all platforms. He is speaking to games and technology. Not for PS3 or Sony.

Reasons Against..... look at Mario 64 it kind of broke the mold from its previous games though not entirely. Even though it was similar to its roots it changed and 3D made a difference. Since then its the same game with little difference but better graphics. Many PlayStation games are the same with better graphics. Many PC games are the same with better graphics.

Peoples FIRST reaction to a game is how it looks, and thus games focus has been how it looks to get peoples attention. More polygons has been the mantra since the beginning. Shooting games have come and changed little since doom. Yea you can take cover now and some other abilities but its not many more abilities. Fighting games have been similar since Street Fighter or Tekken. There is just too many types of games that run the same procedure over and over again to talk about them all. YES there are a few games that make changes, do something really different.

ITS like comparing faster and faster drag racers running farther distances.

@sssephiroth This is true. Sony can make a deal with the owner of the IP rights OR Sony could buy those IP rights for a cheap amount.

Good start now DO MORE. Every GOOD game on PS1, PSP, and PS2 need an Vita port, HD upgrade or Vita specific version. This should be done at a LOW COST. Maybe a way to trade in PS1, PSP, or PS2 games for a discount, even if its just for PSN + people. Sony HAS SO much to get other people onboard yet they do not use it to their advantage. And they wonder why they are behind this go round!!

@ImBack558855 Sony is in the business of making money and Sony is not the ONLY holder of the patents and would benefit from higher installed base of more people buying blue-ray movies.... and money from each Xbox sold.

@RAD_TRBO TOO true, but realize that Microsoft made a great bet with launching Live back in 2001 when even less people have BB internet. SO when the third Xbox comes out there will be more people with BB internet.

@Jonnil ... Streaming would be more expensive and limited to less people. (though I agree that streaming should be done.) Still, if Microsoft is looking for the largest audience then Bluray is the way to go. Also streaming would bring out talk about Used Games, and MANY people are against that. (but I would support streaming only console, maybe use both like Arcade edition?)
