Microsoft has made Hundreds of Millions in PROFIT off Live so I can see them making a new console Next-Gen. Sony on the other hand is not swimming in money. They need to Focus on PSV, Home, PSP, PSN, AND PS3. There is enough to do now. Sony does not need to launch a new console that will cost $$$$ and who know how it will go with this economy.
@ShadowsDemon YES I am not getting into Next Gen until 2016. I still have a lot of games to play as it is. Too much Money to buy all now and not enough time. Developers just now know how to make good games on This gen, Its going to take a while till they even know how to make a game better than this gen.
I hope that Sony decides to ditch plans for next gen till 2015. Sony should lower the cost for developers and lessen the problems of content approval process. It should be as easy as possible. Allow publishers decide on pricing on games instead of a set price. HAVE DD games same day launch with less price and more DD games that work both on PS3 and PSV, without buying both games.
@xxgunslingerxx IF people want NEXT Gen now then I agree get a PC NOW. Xbox 460, PS3, are good enough for now, as they get the job done. And now with more developers understanding of the machines, they can focus on writing better code to make better game engines. Developers can use better Game Mechanics, or Better scripts/stories.
someone is just trying to push the Next Gen out faster by saying that next Gen is coming in 2013. Hoping to pull Microsoft into think that they HAVE to launch as soon as possible then Sony will HAVE to launch early. Neither should launch early. IF people want next GEN then just buy a PC and be happy. The console market is full with Wii/ Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, PSV, 3Ds and smart phones.
@vskyrider84 yes Sony needs to have BOTH disk and DD on day ONE. Maybe the DD only has some DLC included or the first DLC will be free. That will help sell some DD content.
