We are PLAYING the same games with different look. PRESSING the same buttons to accomplish the same tasks and achieve the same goals. Sure newer gamers come in like my son while more people take a break like myself, while others decide to just pick a few games to play instead of the many games they use to play.

@R2BDSi basically you are saying that you do not like those types of games anymore. That is alright but to say that there are not others out there that enjoy these games is just ignorant to the facts that it sells MILLIONS. Your lone opinion and taste are really not needed to the point that you seem to respond by wanting to deny others the opportunity to play such games which they like.

SONY add BC with it, and it Will sell well. At least make 2 options. 1 an inexpensive Super Slim version for $199.00 Sales will skyrocket. and a 249.00 model with BC (PS2 and psx).

I still have my PS2 and the games would not mind picking up another PS3 as the wife seems to be on it with a few games or Netflex for herself or the kid.

Well, lets see if Sony does not mess this up. They tend to be protective of old tech and not use new tech. Sony had an Ipod moment and they passed on it because it threatened their music business. They could have ushered in a new era in many ways but they held on to OLD ways because it was more secure (so it seemed!!!) The old dies and the new rises in its place.

I truly hope that Sony changes this thinking. Becomes nimble again. looks to the future, and moves to change things up. Sony still has a chance to do great things but the big question is WILL they.

@Slash_out There is NOT ONE game that can not run on Xbox 360 that is on PC now even the most powerful PC. The difference is the Graphics, and amount of on screen action (number of people, items at one time). SURE you can say that IF developers TRIED they COULD make a game for the super high end that is a lot better but THEY DO NOT. So the point is MUTE.

@Naylord I would say more like the jump from PS1 to PS3 that would be a change that anyone can notice.

With Sony NOT swimming in money I can see them waiting for PS4 to launch, while collecting money from PS3. PS3 is profitable but not as much as Microsoft has been with Xbox 360. Live fees, proprietary everything. Microsoft is making money at every turn from Xbox 360.

There is a lot left for Sony to do. The question is will Sony let lose some control and money in order to make money in a different way. such as....

- More game sales in Digital format... Day one Disk and digital content.

- Less fees from developers, and less content review process (more like a PC game

- more older games form every system on PSN able to play on both PS3 OR PSV

- Olive type games that allow people to increase power from a server farm

- More games that use PSV with PS3

- more games that use KB/M and Move

- Improved PSN

- Improved Home

Sony just needs to work with what it has and that is enough for this generation for the next few years. Sure some people want better looking games but looking at game sales people playing the same game with a new coat of paint is not going to move this industry much anymore.
