If this is all they talk about, then they will get another "C" rating from me. None of those titles outside DR2 excite me or will generate any kind of buzz. Give me KOTOR3 or something like that, and you have a show.

Why no more hype for AC? Well, for starters, after a whole year of extra development, the game didn't look much different from E3 '06 to E3 '07. What I saw in the E3 '07 demo showed enemies standing around watching their mates get picked off 1-by-1 by the main character, fairly straight-forward gameplay (find bad guy and kill him), and environments that all look the same.

Throw in that this game is multiplat and has no multiplayer, and you can see why the hype has died for it.

Will it still be a good game? Hopefully, given it is being made by the PoP team.

Great find, TC. Console sales don't mean squat if nobody is buying games for that system. Based on these numbers, the Wii needs to outsell the 360 in console sales 2-to-1 in order to match the 360 in game sales.

Just look at Madden 08. The 360 outsold the Wii version 12-to-1, but they both have the same install base. COD3 was 10-to-1.

Well, actually Gears DID hurt the sales of games like F.E.A.R., and others released last holiday season. Not everyone is made out of money and, thus, have to make tough decisions as to what to put their money towards. If someone has spent time saving up to buy Halo 3, they won't have $ to buy more games. On the flip of this, if Halo 3 is totally addictive, then some people may not see any need to run out and buy another game given how much replay value Halo 3 has.

My Gamerscore before Gears of War: about 12,000. (12 months time)

My Gamerscore since Gears of War: about 14,600. (10 months time)

So, in the first year of the 360, I played a TON of different games, built a decent gamerscore, etc. Since Gears, I look at other games in a different light, have higher expectations for other games, and basically would rather play Gears than anything else that has been released for the 360 since last Nov.

The game may get a 9.0 here at GS. Its pretty sad how Sony has lowered the expectations of Cows over the past year to the point wherea 9.0 is your definition of a "killer app". :lol:

If EGM's biggest Sony fanboy, Shane B, can only give Heavenly Sword a 9/10, then do you really think that GS will give it higher than this???

EGM is NOT a MS fanboy mag. They have tried to get Reggie to do one of their "tough love" interviews, but Nintendo refuses to do the interview. I guess if you don't get asked the questions, you don't have to give any answers... Shane is the biggest Sony fanboy on the planet. They have done huge previews of R&C, HS, and others.

All I can say is that at least EGM is willing to openly criticize games. Most other mags and websites (GS included) make every game out to be AAA in their previews. It gets old when EVERY game is made out to be like this. EGM is typically critical when it warrants it.

So, Cows, can you tell me exactly WHEN we are allowed to be critical of Killzone 2? Thanks.
