exactly. Forget gameplay and all the other bull that defends a console owners pride, cross dev has pc owners stuck with the same washed out graphics over and over. Pity there is not more investment in pc gaming to kick the console manufacturers into gear. Even if I can't run the game on max on my pc, it's great just to see ideas pushed to the limits of technology. The Samaratan demo was released in 2011 to showcase what could be done. .....2011 ffs.

@CHROMEFLAMIN I'm with you there. A remake (or enhanced) is never as good as the memories you have from an original idea. Pirates! on the C64 is the memory that holds fondest even though I have dabbled in the many reincarnations of it.

Wow, I haven't checked out start/select in awhile and now it's finished. On the ideas front, why not create a topical gaming news piece, with jokes and comments thrown in. What about "Start/Select" as the name?

@luis4800 From a technical standpoint as you've played both, is there much difference between the XBOX and PS3 version?

Grand Prix 2 was my favourite. Back in uni days, multiplayer gaming was pretty much unheard of in my circle of mates until 2 rather clever chaps connected their pc's via a null modem cable. Remember many a night playing this 2 player and thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Good gaming will just go back underground. A geek hobby went mainstream and is starting to split into those who want to support a worthwhile product who invest in fans or those that want a free licience into a gaming world that's designed to extort as much as possible.

I personally hate it. I play ios games and there are so many that expect you to pay for ammo, buy gold, gems... They're becoming more and more popular and I'm starting to see more on pc which is my main platform. It's like fruit machines all over again. Topping up over and over. I just want to get what I pay for. A level playing field rather than the option of paying to be better.

here's a perfect example of why I hate cross platform development. Lets grow up for a sec and realise that the Xbox 360 is holding us all back. Why on earth has the gaming world ground to a halt because we have to wait for the corporate world to get off its rear and realise the next gen. My PC may not be the best kit in the world but the plastic faces and horrible wall bouncing on this game is ridicoulous. Whether its the abomination of Alan Wake or the Sleeping dogs slow defunct world, lets face facts cross development sucks. I want the potential for my platform, not being dragged along like an extra from star trek because cross dev says that we need to support the red shirt wearing mupput called ensign xbox.

Great news, one doll house simulator in the world is more than enough.

Great news. They have a fantastic vision when creating their games and look after their fans. Quite rare these days in the mainstream.
