This part was not really that hard. Crow should be swimming with the fishes in no time. I did it by going up to the main bridge and then hiding behind the wall, let the chopper gunner fire and the strafe to the doorway fire at him and then hide. If they try to swing around to the other side just switch (there is a door on either side of the bridge if I remember correctly). After a little dueling Crow is swimming. By the way, not to scare you but that scene is no where near the hardest scene in the game. The Vulcano level still gives anyone that has every bit it cold sweat nightmares.:P

Ironically a trusty shotgun out gunned the groups of chaingunners with helmets every time. The AI reaction was so slow that at items I felt like I was playing Max Payne on bullet time (slight exaggeration.:P).

It sound good but the author is full of bullc@#p. The main hinge for moving Dx10 to XP is the way sounds is handled. In XP prior versions the sound linked into the OS kernel. Sound problems are the main reason games crash. In Dx10 sound functions were completely re-written to be separate from the OS kernel so that if they fail it doesn't crash your game or the PC.

It will stay exclusive for two reasons: 1) The changes go down to the OS kernel level so assuming MS is not lying, it just can't be done on XP. 2) It will be a main driver for gamers to move to Vista. Let's face it without Dx10, many of use would skip Vista entirely are at least for years. Before Crysis comes out I will be forced to upgrade but will probably do Duel boot so I only have to use it for Dx10 games. Its a pain but playing the next games in Dx9 just ain't an option.

Kiwi_1 is right and wrong. It depends at what resolution you run your games. If you run them at the highest resolutions 1600x1200 or higher with maxed out effects with AA/AF then the CPU makes little difference. If on the other hand you play at lower resolutions then the CPU makes a bigger difference. You can see this effect in an benchmark test. Here is one at Firing Squad as an example: Link The rule of thumb is that the average user will notice any change of 20% or greater. In my view, avid users will notice anything 10% and up. Also consider that speed increases are generally composite with slight speed gains from various parts to achieve an overall perceived effect. That said, I have the CPU as you do and I could use some more juice for Photoshop but I am not feeling the pinch yet but will probably go Intel by early next year.

Your friend is giving you bad advice. As for processes you can use Manage Computer > Services to determine which are automatic, manual or disabled if you have too many runnings. How many is too many depends on what you are running and your needs. For gaming I like keep my processes around the 20 or lower mark. As for your CPU, you need actually tell us which CPU you have. Your description is way too vague.

Well between that and the defrag you are due for a melt down. If you jump on our advice you might be able to save it but otherwise are you due for thermal failure / hard drive failure. I guess all comes down to whether you care about the data you have and whether you can afford a new box. You decide.

At the time I played I was doing a lot of tournament play but honestly aside from the lumbar yard scene just before the high rise and the end boss, I didn't find much that gave me pause. I wouldn't rate it much harder than HL2 which was a pretty easy game in my book. There a lot more cheap kills in D3 in my book.
