I don't think Forbes needs anymore traffic but ok.

This was what I was referring too in my post. The threads are exactly opposite. One thread was clearly just made too early with the intent to troll users that care about sales. The thread was based on anecdotal evidence and clearly generated early to troll users, but I didn't care. Unless companies give me some $$$, I just want the games, haha. It's sort of interesting seeing users care enough to make bunk threads with little evidence only to be refuted days later, but I guess the idea was to troll for a few days.

Let's ignore the fact every peice of media however has been saying the first one since say .. That point until.... Yesterday...

That's the point, users should be able to discern which bits of media are fluff pieces designed to lure traffic. Users should know which articles are bait and ignore them. Instead, users take the sensationalist spins and re-post them despite common sense. This has been going on for decades on the internet, and hundreds of years in newspapers.

The trick is to scrutinize the presented evidence in any media piece and if the piece fails, no need to repeat it. It applies to more than gaming journalism, any bit of journalism at all. Politics, Social issue pieces, gaming, sports, et cetera.

I don't think forbes is aiming for any ore traffic but ok. Even so, you would need to convince the general public this, but the general public loves spin, so even though you have a point it sadly means jack.

Pulled a Brawl and Kart Wii in a few months and moved around 3 and 6 million Wii U consoles in about 6 months alone?

Imagine if those were the only games Nintendo needed to move units. It would be probably the funniest thing ever. Everyone would freak out, System Wars in chaos. Wii U is already "barely" ahead, and if these games do manage to sell just around the previous entries did, the Wii U will be way out in front because neither console is going to move 9 million unit between now and next year.

OK so due to the upset of the last vote threads (mostly because Killzone 2 was on top 3 and stomped everyone the first thread so people though there were trolls voting.) and the many PMs requesting an open no strings attached FPS tournament, we have this.

This thread will start a tournament where your votes will determine the single best First Person shooter of all time, across all platforms, no strings attached EXCEPT expansions. they HAVE to be standalone.

RULES:

1.In this thread, people will vote for their top 5 FPS games of all time. Each FPS will have 50 for the top choice and 10 for the bottom.

2.The top 50 in this thread will be put in brackets in head to head threads. So this tournament will take awhile.

3.If we don't get 50 votes we will do 35, 30, or 25. But from the last thread I believe we will get more than 50.

4. No expansions that are not standalone..

5. ALL systems that can play games. Including all home computers, PC, Game consoles, handhelds, etc.

6. Have fun I guess.

The names of all the votes will be under tally results. The top 50 games (unless we get a low number, then I'll shrink it) will be counted. They will go under the winners section and then we will start the head to head matchups.

TALLY RESULTS:

THE TOP 50 WINNERS

Hopefully people will pay more attention the them this year, because despite almost winning E3 with old and new game announcements back to back to back last year, Sony slapped the shit out of them with like 4 sentences. Even though the failed attempt to sneak the online pay for MP slowed the down the excitement a bit, those 4 sentences pretty much gave it E3 to Sony.

Good thing MS changed up, because they did not care at first, but then while there preorders were going down, Wii U sells started to go up, and we can't have that shit.
