Sega Saturn,PS2 and 1,Dreamcast, and how can I forget the NES. Maybe a few others I can't think of at the moment. I sold each of those systems to get the next generation system (so-called...) , at one time I sold three consoles to get one...
On the surface games wise, Gamecube because it does what N64 does graphically--just better. Mario Kart for example is better across the board on the Gamecube, they just built on what was already there from the N64 (Nintendo 64) version. FZero is another example. It depends on what you want, you really can't go wrong with either, I personally prefer Super Mario on the Nintendo 64 than the Gamecube version of Super Mario. If you've been playing the classic's such as Nintendo and Genesis and want the next best thing along the same lines then the Nintendo 64 will satisfy.
When they were first released, Mortal Kombat, today Steeet Fighter because one of the reasons being that I've forgotten the moves in Mortal Kombat--or stratigies that made me feel that I wasn't just button mashing.
I don't have or remember one, the majority of games I've conquered are on PC and they were first person shooters--little to no bosses in the way you mean it.
I can beat Super Mario Bros. in no more than 2 hrs., the other two would take longer because they are different types of games, there more quest driven. And both of those other games have a password feature to save progress.
A videogame vendor at my local flea market (more commonly known as The Pavilion) had a JPN Sega Saturn (I thought I could get over the language barrier) nearly a month before state side release, so me and my younger brother pleaded with our dad to spot some cash and sold a good fraction of our current videogame collection to get it, ; if my memory serves me correct. I'm not 100% sure that we got Virtual Fighter with it, about 90%. We were only happy with it for about month no more than 8 weeks, there was no Ebay so games were limited to 2 or something like that at the flea market, most likely had to know Japanese to play the other(s). There you have it.
I'm definitely going to get a "PSX" DVR, it's a JPN only Playstation 2 with a TV tuner, hard drive, and a browser highly similar to the one on PS3 (Playstation 3). So yes, I'll be buying a PS2 next year.
