I actually bought World At War a couple of days before I had to head back to college. The game's simply amazing. It reminds me exactly of CoD 4 (which isn't a bad thing), except in a phenomenal WW2 setting. The weapons work well and the controls feel tight. My only complaint is with the tanks. A tad bit overpowered (it takes HOW many rockets to kill?), but I suppose you need to work as a team to destroy one, which makes sense. Still, a satchel charge to the treads or underneath a tank should annihilate/disable the vehicle.

Could you imagine a disabled tank, still capable of firing but unable to move? Hmm...

It's like a pizza with pizza toppings...that are pizzas in and unto themselves...

Isn't that supposed to violate physics or something along those lines??

most of the games you guys talk about here are games i play so i think ill like it here.nealsdaman

Have you played Sins of a Solar Empire? If you love RTS and TBS, then I highly suggest this game. It's like a crazy mixture of both. I'll have to put up my review of it up on these forums some time. I might actually have a bit of a life with Thanksgiving break here!!

:D

I would really love to see an online multiplayer mode of the "Campaign." Although, to be realistic, that may take a very long time. However, LOTR: Battle For Middle Earth 2 allows you and another human to play on the turn based map of Middle Earth. Each player makes their moves at the same time and then once each has ended his/her turn, then the next turn commences. Any battling is done by auto-resolve, unless both human players are in one battle. Only then can the battle be decided in-game.

But so far, Empire: Total War looks very good. I only hope it will turn out as great as Medieval 2!

If you meant Gears 2, then I'm going to eventually pick it up. I'd love to try out Horde mode and get farther into the storyline that is Gears. Yeah, definitely try out those stealth ideas. It's hard to do, but if you can manage it and do it right, then people will be very surprised.

All I can say is, get a Sniper Rifle, find a dark corner, and start picking them off.

But if you miss, run and run fast or prepare for a fight. Whichever you prefer. Make sure that if you run, constantly move between cover to disorient your opponents and to help block any incoming fire.

I saw a gameplay video of Left 4 Dead and it was in first person. The views might be interchangable, though.

Good call! I completely forgot about that! Four player co-op vs hordes of zombies! What could be better?

I mean, the Hammer of Dawn is a great weapon and all, but if you add to the fact that you can only use it when conditions are perfect AND that you're left completely vulnerable while you're unleashing that torrent of death, it really isn't all that phenomenal.

However, I must say it has an excellent psychological effect on your opponents. I love it when people go running once they see that beam of death drop from the sky :D!

Far Cry 2?? You might enjoy it due to:

A. It IS an interesting game.

B. It's new (sort of)!! :D

C. The map maker is absolutely awesome.

D. I highly doubt it's retarded. A lot of people seem to like it.

E. The graphics are beautiful, hands down.

F. Long story with a sandbox type of gameplay, so you can do what you want.

G. Weapons degrade!

I think that's all I've got for that game, but do realize I HAVE NOT PLAYED IT BUT AM GOING OFF WHAT MY FRIENDS AND OTHERS ARE SAYING. Try renting it before you buy it

Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun and its expansion Firestorm. These games bring me back to the great days of RTS. Although they weren't great on a technical perspective, I simply loved playing them.

However, Company of Heroes, Sins of a Solar Empire, and countless others dot my list.
