Why would anyone get a 3ds -- even this one -- when its successor is out?

Lifecycles for games only grow longer because companies throw in overpriced DLC.

@Tiwill44: You realize, of course, that Warriors games often give a character multiple appearances. In Hyrule Warriors, for example, Link starts with a costume, has another given for free with the 1.7 update, and has a third unlocked at the end of the first stage -- and that's without any DLC.

@Arkhalipso: It depends on the review. Sure, many reviews are pointless, but many other reviews have warning signs about the game (frequent crashes, developers not fixing problems, etc.).

Not surprisingly, there are some games that I considered but rejected because of meaningful negative reviews.
