@Xristophoros: No, Nintendo is only taking the ones who buy it for a ride. I've been buying Nintendo consoles since the NES, but there's no way I'm getting this.
@videogameninja: Keep in mind that many of BotW's sales were for the Wii U. Just a few days ago, Amazon reported their top ten best-selling games of 2017 -- and it included the Wii U version of BotW. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/super-mario-odyssey-was-amazons-best-selling-game-/1100-6455871/
@Tiwill44: You realize, of course, that Warriors games often give a character multiple appearances. In Hyrule Warriors, for example, Link starts with a costume, has another given for free with the 1.7 update, and has a third unlocked at the end of the first stage -- and that's without any DLC.
@Arkhalipso: It depends on the review. Sure, many reviews are pointless, but many other reviews have warning signs about the game (frequent crashes, developers not fixing problems, etc.).
Not surprisingly, there are some games that I considered but rejected because of meaningful negative reviews.
