Never played the first and rented the 2nd on a whim and it turned out to be one of my fav beat um games of that era. The second game isn't pretty (even for it's time) but it plays so well I could hardly be a**ed about the constant sh*t brown of the world ;p I might pick this up just to replay the 2nd game and try out the first. If the price is reasonable.

@Axe_Armor Well those are harder things to do then making some boobs bigger ;p I'm sure they would give it a try but fans requested something fairly easy to do so they obliged.

Lol the headline is sort of chuckle worthy. Is this news? A company trying to make profits! Say aint so joe! Congrats Sony you are attempting to achieve the basic objective of all companies! I hear Microsoft and Nintendo are copying this winning Idea, what rip-off artists. Sorry for the sarcasm ;p but seriously Gamespot this must have been a slow news day.

I loved sleeping dogs, most fun I've had in an open world game since mafia 2. Great PC port made playing on the PC a truly superior game experience. Still all that said the game doesn't have a ton of replay value unless you are a collectibles freak. I know It took me 24 hours to complete the game and I really didn't feel compelled to come back for more. During the main campaign I finished and collected about 80-90% of the bonus stuff as I went along. Since all the collectables/bonus missions show up on your map after you bang a chick ;p it's pretty easy just to get most of them driving to and from main quests or doing the drug busts. Maxing out cop and face levels is easy and the police drug bust missions are REALLY repetitive. Seriously the same mission about 20-30 or so times lol

The DLC so far has been the bad kind of DLC just a lot of cosmetic stuff and cars that is priced a little high (4 bucks for an outfit and car?!?! and 3 bucks to get cash and EXP that's easily obtainable in game by doing side missions?) I really thought a true story DLC would have been out by now. Despite all my bitching above I'd still recommend it, especially if you can get the PC version on a sale.

@Style11 or it means the company put the PC port as the last priority and couldn't even be bothered to make it work themselves. Just being devils advocate here and with PC ports in this gen I'm sadly betting I'm closer to the truth. I can be hopeful though we have had two great PC ports in the last few months (sleeping dogs/borderlands 2) and that rarely ever happens ;p We also had dark souls but yaaaaaah HOPE ;p

A lot of people seem to think that outsourcing is good. It really is a hit or miss kind of thing. I'm pretty sure both force unleashed games were outsourced and they were awful ports (especially the second one, with the exception of dark souls, is probably the worst functional PC port I've played). Then you have ones like mass effect 1 which are far an away superior and did more then just make it sort of work (It looked pretty, fixed almost all the graphical glitches, had excellent mouse/keyboard controls and completely revamped the inventory management). Also releasing a game after the console version comes out doesn't mean it's going to be quality either...Batman AC anyone? That game still has poor optimization with directx 11 and runs poorly even on uber machines and at launch was unplayable in DX11 mode. Prototype 2 is another example of a game being released well after the console version and sucking hard.

So really I'm pretty much expecting nothing from DMC. I've grown pretty apathetic when it comes to PC ports now. I don't expect companies to put any effort into them since it seems that they don't most of the time. For every borderlands 2 we get we have 5 other sh**ty ports to contend with where no effort whatsoever is applied. Sigh I miss the old days when basic crap that was pretty much a given wasn't a luxury we praised companies for when they bother to throw them in.

I wish games had a scaling price system based on development cost. Not every game is a AAA blockbuster title with a 20 million dollar + budget and a massive marketing campaign. Right now it's either 60 bucks for an off the shelf game new or 10-15 bucks for an xbox/ps3 arcade game. Why can't we have inbetween priced titles? Something that launches at 30-40 bucks (HD Remakes seem to be the only thing in this price range "new" right now)? I've pretty much adandoned my console in favour of the sale prices of PC games so it really isn't that big of a deal for me these days.

Still I remember a time not to long ago, before DLC, when 50 bucks bought you all the content the game offered. Now a game is 60 bucks out of the gate and if you like it enough to get the DLC, it can cost anywhere from 15-60 bucks extra depending on the number of DLC's released.

2006-2008? Hmmmm what big fps game, that is bigger then ever now, came out around that time period HMMMM oh ya COD4. Once new managment came in they probably said "make it more like COD" which wasn't what the developers were doing but they had contracts so they starved them until it was canned. I'm just pulling crap out of my a** but it's what I swear goes through publishers heads. If something sells, rip it off and slap a popular franchise license on it, GOLD. At least with the dirth of FPS since 2007 it's just been one terrible COD clone after another.

Sure the PC has all the console crap to deal with and no used games but there's one GIANT difference. SALES lots and lots of SALES. No used games but we get massive daily sales across many DD websites. I don't mind dealing with all the stupid PC related pitfalls when I pay 2.50-7.50 on a game that 6 months ago was 50-60 bucks. If I don't like said game and stopped playing after a couple of hours hey at least it wasn't 60 bucks. I can still go pay my bills and perhaps grab a game I might end up loving. I can buy games new that I truely want to play while ones I was wishy washy about I just have to wait a few months until it goes on 80% off. If used games became banned on consoles in the next gen and were replaced by actual sales in the vein of how PC games work, maybe console game sales would actually have some longevity and sell past the first month of release. There's a reason that 2010 and 2011 were the most profitable for PC game sales ever...the consumer didn't feel like the publisher was running a hot rod up there a**hole.
