Hermits pirate all their games anyway, so I don't see why they care they don't even need a launcher.

Steam has been awful as a piece of software for pretty much its entire existence. Competition can only be good to get Valve to keep improving it.

Xbox One is by far the worst Xbox system. PS2, first gen PS3, Wii, WiiU and 360 all had full BC, so getting limited BC 2 years into a gen is hardly a win for Xbone.

BC is more useful at the start of a gen when first year game selection is limited and you may want to sell last gen console to partially fund the new one. I can't imagine wanting to play a 360 game in 2019 when any decent game has either a next gen sequel or remaster.

Xbox One more closely resembles the dying years of the 360; lack of exclusives, Kinect (although now dumped due to failure), and the console feeling like it was just waiting for the next gen to begin.

At the start of the gen I thought physical all the way, but now digital is just more convenient and with PS+ I always have something waiting to be played, I think over the gen I have got like 200+ games from PS+ alone. While not all games are worth playing you still have a good 60-70 games that are decent.

Add the sales and you have more games than you could possibly want, no need for physical.

Like streaming with movies and music it will come down to convenience vs quality.

Music streaming and CDs have reached parity so there is very little reason to go for CD when you can stream at CD quality or higher with something like Tidal, and the wide range of choices and also music going up on streaming at release date means streaming easily makes the most sense.

Movies still have an audience for physical if you are interested in quality as streaming still hasn't hit blu-ray or UHD blu-ray quality, you also have much more limited choice with streaming and wait times for release dates. Blu-ray will usually come out a couple of months after the movie whereas it could take 12 months to hit streaming/TV if it gets there at all.

Gaming at the moment looking at PS Now seems to be more in line with movies in that games are either old or indie and the streaming quality just isn't there, nor will it be for some time.

Its pretty clear that streaming will be the future, but PS5 gen won't be impacted at all.

Still use it regularly currently playing Texas Chainsaw Resident Evil Massacre 7. I have a huge backlog to get through.

Just recently beat Persona 5 awesome game, and ditched Kingdom Hearts collection which was complete ass.
