I still believe both Kinect and Move wont last long, by spring next year no one would care about either and the sales will completely slow down by then.
Agreed. Lets hope people get bored fast.Ugh... I was hoping this crap would flop. The generation will now be extended longer than it would have, had they failed.

The KB move ads have been crap, the newer ones non-move are back to a better quality though!I contribute this to Sony's advertising. I've seen so many Kevin Butler ads for this thing.

TBH, no where is it stated in the official press release "sold". PR is smart and used the word "reached".
Nice PR spin it's probably just "sold to retailers" aka "shipped".

Move - 4.1 Million in Two Months
Kinect - 2.5 Million in 25 Days
Definitely.
ugghhhh, sales not deservedGiancarSony & MS have both cashed in on the crowd willing to spend money without researching what they are getting. MS especially have sacrificed their long term base for a quick buck.
would the navigation controller count for this number as well? doesn't say. either way most ppl will be getting 2 move controllers and up to 4 while only one kinect so the numbers can't be compared 1 for 1.Ontain
But yet you have people in the thread thinking there is an incredible disparity. I guess this whole motion sensing deal is here to stay if these recent numbers prove anything.

Not to mention that each individual SKU for Move counts as a sale. So every Wand, every Nav controller, every starter pack, and every Eye counts as a Move sale.
Those Kinect numbers are even more impressive when you factor in most Move owners have bought at least two Wands. I know 1 person who owns 8 wands so he can have 4 players play together.

Numbers for Move and Kinect show that Sony and Microsoft were smart with doing some motion control.
However I can say that it doesn't really bother me anymore. It seems that there are two large markets that can accommodate the core players (us) and the causals (waggle).

Not a fact, but it's never been announced what they are counting has it? How else would they break it down? Do you think Sony would only count starter packs when trying to boast about their Move sales?
Of course not they are counting every move component they are selling, otherwise they would announce that they are only counting wands, or they are only counting starter packs, or they are only counting each eye, and wand combination, etc.
Edit: Guess I stand corrected as stoner-pimp above has linked a euro gamer article where Sony says it is just the wands and the starter packs they are counting. I'm actually amazed they are not counting the nav controller.

Your statement is base on what may I ask? Cause everytime I see the word "Move" I only think of the lighted ball controller.Numbers for Move and Kinect show that Sony and Microsoft were smart with doing some motion control.

Tha't's pretty good, but Kinect will sell over 5 million in 2 months. They already sold 2.5 million in less them a month and the biggest shopping for the holidays hasn't even arrived yet. We'll see how both of these devices hold up AFTER the holidays. That will be key. I expect Microsoft will announce a price cut on both Kinect and XBox 360 during E3 next year. We'll see if Sony's PS3 can keep up after that. They will never catch them in the U.S. and that's critical for M$.[QUOTE="TintedEyes"]Lems definitely got owned here no question.waltefmoney

LOL!! What!?!? Let's wait and see Kinect sales after 2 months. No one got owned here. Kinect could sell well over 5 million in the sale time period. So before yo claimed ownage, let's wait for the rest of the numbers to fall into place.[QUOTE="coasterguy65"][QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"]

So you are speculating.Ok so here's the facts, or at least as close as we can get them.
We know that the numbers both Sony and MS give are really just estimates.
We know that Kinect has sold appox 2.5 million units in 25 days.
We also know that Move has sold approx 4.1 million units in 76 Days.
Although what Sony is actually counting as Move sales we don't know for a fact. It has been stated by an article that Sony said that they are counting only wands, and starter packs.
We also know that people have bought multiple Move wands for use with one PS3 system, while it is impossible to use more than one Kinect on an Xbox 360.
Is that factual enough given what we know as people who follow the industry but don't actually work in the accounting departments at either Sony or Microsoft?
When i was at BestBuy last week i saw few people grabing 3 bundles each, i was really surprised that people are that intreasted in Move.

good sales for sony. Very impressive for Kinect. Which one can keep it going longer after the holidays? All depends on Killer Software and Price

How do you know each move owner has bought at least 2 wands.? That is a huge assumption the way I see it. But is not the only flaw in your argument, becase the ps3 can't support 8 wands for 4 player gaming, since the bluetooth limitation only allow for 7 devices to be hook up at once,on a single ps3 and from what I read only 4 of those can be wand the rest most be be navi controllers, and just 3 more, something in your argument doesn't add up.So basically Sony is reporting that they have sold 4.1 million Move "wands". That will make things very difficult for those attempting to compare the performance of Kinect vs Move saleswise, unless someone can come up with some legitimate numbers for the average attatch ratio for the controllers for Move owners. I would guess it's somewhere around 2 per person, but that is pure speculation.
