PC runs all games better than Xbox One X. PC has tons of exclusives, Xbox One X has absolutely none. Not a single one.

What is this catching up you are wanting to do? Are you taking about the dead potato Xbox One X CPU that hilariously forces 30fps on any game with modern day visuals? The X is trying to 'catch up' to a PC from 10 years ago. Is that what you're after?

The X is a garbage budget PC with no games AT ALL outside of multiplats. No games and vastly inferior performance to a decent gaming PC most notably a frame rate crippling CPU.

If you want to discuss the X1X, why not make the thread in the Xbox section instead of System Wars. Same can be said for the "What's Sony got left" thread. To answer your question. By Summer of 2018 a $500 PC should be able to outperform the X1X price to performance.

I'm willing to wager that in 2018 you won't be able to walk into a store and come out with a $500 PC that can play games at XB1X settings out of the box. You might be able to build one at around $800 but it won't play UHD BluRay disks. You definitely are not going to walk into a store and buy a Pre built PC at even close to $800 and get XB1X Settings. The XB1X is a Great Value for any one that doesn't game on PC or for anyone that wants a UHD Player.

Xbox One X GPU is closer to a GTX 980 from 2014.

X1X isn't a 1070. You can't compare TFLOPs to real game performance across architectures or brands unless you're just comparing actual floating point performance.

I expect no less than next year. GPU, RAM, and SSD prices have been massively inflated by supply shortages.

Volta GPU - $200, Decent PSU - $50, Motherboard/i3/RAM combo - $230, Decent SSD - $70. Case - $?

Solidly beat the One X. Probably cut more cost with mail in rebates and an HDD which should offset the cost of the case.

Agreed. It's pointless right now to guesstimate. When the console comes out and devs continue to tinker with it we'll see what it is capable of over the next 3 years.

@drlostrib: I haven't seen any reputable dev compare X1X to a GTX 1070. Ark devs aren't reputable, their game is an unoptimized POS on PC but you already know that.

I'd say 1.5-2 years. Some games will just have shit PC versions, especially the Xbox App ones, and that'll help keep the comparison at that price bracket favorable longer

Performance is only one aspect of a PC.

The utility is always worth the extra cost.

Right now the market has too many problems making predictions harder.

@EG101: I still feel the $200(or less with the free games bundle) for an S with a 4k player is a better deal. I just don't think there will be enough difference visually. On paper it looks great, but in real life it doesn't seem that noticable (The graphics). The Pro is living example of this. The difference on paper is about 2 1/2 the GPU performance and better CPU speed but it's really hard to tell while gaming.

Nah... the price/performance of the X1X is irrelevant as it fails in the performance department. So, there is no sense in comparing it with the price/performance of PC hardware. If the X1X was capable of 60fps in all games, then it would be a legit comparison.

PC gamers are so defensive. The question is when will PCs be on par with the X for the same price. Or you give an example of a build or you accept that the X as better value. And it's ok to say that right now no one can really know. No need to go straight into damage control.

The X1X will lower some visual graphics to make up for 4k res. My 1080 gtx i7 6700k 4.5 ghz and 16GB ram ddr4 cant do 4k max settings at 60fps plus. I have pre-ordered the Scorpio but I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed on the performance and not get steady FPS with less visuals and textures etc then PC.
