Update: We're in the last few hours of Prime Day. Arguably the best deal we saw on a PS4 included a Slim bundle with Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn, but that sold out. Tuesday has seen it return, and although it's listed as "temporarily out of stock," you can still place an order for it. It's unclear how quickly it will ship, but if this is a deal you're interested in, a short wait is a small price to wait. As before, the product page may list a higher price, but you'll see just under that that it's a Prime Day deal that drops to $250 when you add it to your cart. The original story follows.

If you're in the market to buy a PlayStation 4 and aren't particularly fussy about making sure you get the PS4 Pro and its 4K gaming capabilities, you'll find a pretty good deal on the PS4 Slim as part of the annual Amazon Prime Day sale. Along with the console itself, you'll pick up two of the platform's most critically-acclaimed games: Marvel's Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn.

The package is currently available for $250 on Amazon with free shipping. At this price you'd be saving around $100, which is a nice chunk of cash that you can put to better use elsewhere. It's worth noting that Marvel's Spider-Man will be delivered as a digital code, so you'll have to download the game via the internet. Horizon Zero Dawn, meanwhile, is a physical version of the Complete Edition, which includes all the DLC and expansions that were made available post-release.

In our Spider-Man PS4 review Ed Tran awarded the game 9/10. "Minor shortcomings don't detract from Insomniac's achievement in creating a game that feels like an authentic interpretation of a beloved creation," he said. "The feeling of embodying Spidey and using his abilities is astonishing, and the time spent on exploring its major characters help make its story feel heartfelt, despite superhero bombast.

"There have been open-world Spider-Man games before, but none so riveting and full of personality, none that explore and do justice to this many facets of the universe. Insomniac has created a superior Spider-Man experience that leaves a lasting impression, one that has you longing for just one more swing around New York City, even after the credits roll."

Horizon Zero Dawn also received praise from us. "This is the first departure from the Killzone series for developer Guerrilla Games, and though you might think the team took a risk by stepping out of its FPS comfort zone to create a third-person open-world action game, you'd never know it was their first rodeo," said Peter Brown in his Horizon Zero Dawn review.

"For every minor imperfection, there's an element of greatness that recharges your desire to keep fighting and exploring Zero Dawn's beautiful and perilous world. Guerrilla Games has delivered one of the best open-world games of this generation, and redefined its team's reputation in the process."

There are sure to be plenty more discounts over the course of the next couple of days. Make sure to keep an eye on our Amazon Prime Day 2019 hub, where you'll find the best deals we've spotted.
