@Doomerang He looks like he is trying out for the role of Dr. Evil in a new Austin Powers movie. Maybe he is the new Diet Coke of evil?

@johnpombrio And that is part of their problem....forcing a arguably worthless accessory to be part of the core system and then using that as justification to charge more.

"It’s up to us to prove that it’s worth $100 more. I think it is"

"I think..." "I think..." "I think..." "I think..."

"I just believe that we’re going to have a better system."

So...his first statement acknowledges that he needs to justify why they are charging $100 more, but the only reason he can give is that he thinks it is going to be better, so they will charge more. Hardly justification enough in my book when it comes to me spending money. How about a concrete reason or two beyond someone's opinion? If I ask you all to give me $100 because I think it is the right thing to do, I doubt anyone would give me money....and if you did, I'd call you a sucker.

@Radnen It's how you look at it...you could say they are polar opposites, or you could say they are mirrors of the same person...they are the same, but starting at opposite ends of the spectrum....

To quote Belloq From Raiders of the Lost Ark : "You and I are very much alike. Archeology is our religion, yet we have both fallen from the pure faith. Our methods have not differed as much as you pretend. I am but a shadowy reflection of you."

This isn't news. The same is true for both consoles from the last generation. Look at the launch titles for PS3 and 360 and it is obvious they were nowhere near as graphically advanced as titles for the same platform 6 years later. The hardware didn't change. Developers just figured out how to use the hardware more efficiently.

@hellgast0 Not hating on anyone...just switching from Microsoft to Sony. The consoles may be about equal, but the Micorsoft mananegament drove me away.

Regardless of which system makes you look more handsome or get better grades, you have to admit Sony has done a hell of a lot better at marketing the next generation console than Microsoft.

"being able to say "Xbox on" and have the system boot up and load his profile is a "very magical experience.""

Yeah, it rates right up there with the magic of pushing a button on a remote, or using The Clapper. Really, that's the best example of using the Kinect he can come up with? $100 for a voice-activated XBox?

"Xbox One is Kinect,"

...and an ostrich is a bird....but neither one is flying in my book.

Why the Xbox is losing for me : I don't trust them anymore. Yeah, they backtracked on all the stupid restrictions, but only after massive bad press, and even then they kept their head in the sand for a long time. They showed what they want to do, and that is to charge you for everything, and restrict your options as much as possible. What's to stop them from doing it next year, after they break even on console sales, and have an established player base? I'm not going to risk it.
