I don't have any allegience to any of these companies so I can just say with all honesty, i'll never understand why microsoft went out if their way to annoy their own supporters.

Jay Crowe spoke very well, and didnt show the arrogance of other directors and people interviewed. I played the original op for. It was rough, but its scale was nice all power to the team they have there, hope the game does well.

....And yet... when he mentioned the capture point being a little too video game-y - it took Mr PR guy back a little.

There was an element of truth in that statement. It was a little damn video gamey.

Seriously, I couldnt care less about multiplayer. I don't want to be online all damn day. It's 2013 and I still play Generals Skirmish. Air Force USA, Demolitions GLA, Nuke China.

Let me buy the game and do what I want with it, not what you tell me I can do with it.

A great series - butchered.

I don't consider Thief and Dishonored anywhere near alike. Dishonored for me was an arcadey mismatch, where stealth was an option, not a requirement. I chose to play stealthy because it was how I wanted to play, but I really didnt have to. I never felt, oh wow - got caught - time to panic. That's the total opposite of Thief. Higher difficulties - you get found, if you dont escape, 9/10 - you're dead.. I know there's a lot of thief 4 apologists around here, and I wouldnt be surprised if they enjoyed dishonered too. I'd love if they could get one of these apologists to play dishonored at its hardest, and then go transition to Thief Gold at it's hardest and see if they stack up. Thief Gold can prep you for dishonored, Dishonored can't prep you for Thief.

Thief 1 + 2 = Classic.
[Thief 3 = meh..]

Thief 4 = modern bs.

There I said it.

And just why am I arbitrarily disabling options, it's part of the game design so why am I disabling it? Just so I can stop boo hooing and think its a real thief game?
Doesn't change it from being dumbed down for casuals.
You know what thief had for casuals? You know what games in a more classic era had for casuals?

Easy mode, and different difficulty settings.

I'm a gamer, not a baby. So I dont need to be babied.

Glad to see that i'm not the only one with concerns about this game.

I picked up some flak just for point out these potential issues.

The people who replied negatively to my comments below, and the ones who liked their replies, probably arent thief fans.

I played Thief 1 and 2 on every difficulty setting and I loved the fact that new objectives were added, and the modes got more and more difficult, and you had less health forcing you to play it stealth, and not go gung ho, you had to think about the enviroments.

So when I see this game give you sonar, and other stupidness telling you its there, to help you understand the enviroment - I know this dude has no grounding in the thief way. And it's a dead give away by the way he starts talking about the casual player with children shouting at them, what game design should be changed by the potential of kids shouting? I don't care if it was a joke.

I'm the thief player who loved the game, loved the atmosphere, took all the damn cutscenes joined em up into one video and went to sleep listening to it. If I have concerns, it's not out of hate. It's out of respect for what came before.

Calm down, I'm just commenting on what I see, I being a tool has nothing to do with anything, other then you overreacting like an idiot.

Looking Glass was a legendary developer, and the thief series has/had a very serious, hardcore following, and if you dont understand the concerns, and think that opting out makes all the gameplay just dandy - then you probably don't know anything about gaming, let alone thief.
