That damn AL doesn't half like to lie and over-exaggerate the damn game GEEZ. It's exactly full of the same flaws as rome 2.

The same engine versus collision detection problems.. hell all the battle flaws in rome 2 are visible in this 15mins. Such a dissapointment. Such a POS.

What are you even talking about? So by that logic the bugfest that was Simcity [reboot] shouldnt have got a video review either - but it did. It got that video review, and so should this game, if it is the step back and all that you say - thats even more reason for a video review detailing and pointing out all of the stuff you mention.

This game was one of the most anticipated pc games of the year, consistently held top 3 spots for most pc traffic on here and other gaming sites and it gets a freelance, generic review? If it was a similiar franchaise on a console - it wouldnt be the same.. it'd get that video review, and it'd get the relatively thorough attention it should get, even if it's to only display its faults and show why you shouldnt buy it.

So let me get this straight.. one of the most anticipated PC games of the year, and also one of the best PC series currently in production gets released.. and gets a text review.

Meanwhile a no account 3ds puzzler will get a video review, wiki page and all the trimmings?

If you don't care about the PC Section then just disband the damn thing.

I've played Rome 2 for about 60 turns now, and I agree with the score, could even be lower, based on a few quirks with the way armies move on the campaign map and the already mentioned technical issues..

But if "AAA" quality games for PC don't get the same treatment as others.. then be fair, be honest, admit you couldnt give a shit about PC gaming and shut the section down.

No downloads, eh - so I wonder what reasons will I have seriously to come here at all?

The ad infested streaming videos?

The once every six month editorials?

The 100% unenthusiastic Tom McShea video reviews?

The 3 days late gaming news?

This isn't a confrontational post, believe it or not - I'm just wondering seriously what this site will have to offer that I cant find better, and in a less intrusive format elsewhere?

I've been a member of this site for a very long time, and a lurker on this site for longer still.. and I still miss the era of greg kasavin and his ilk, when this site gave two shits about gamers reviewing games with some kind of enthusiasm that matched the rest of us, instead of this popcorn bullshit we get now. Not to say that Kevin and co aren't gamers - but your clearly of a different kind to Greg, and the 90's era GS team - you're the pepsi to their coca-cola.

This site and the direction it travels remains a dissapointment. It's death by a 1000 cuts, or a 1000 changes that improves nothing. This announcement is sad for many reasons. The fact that most of the GS team or management don't realize that is part of the very problem and the reason they don't connect with a readership that has long since moved elsewhere.

You know for season 1 of this stuff, I heard the voices and I could try to imagine what these two would look like with their metrosexual voices... but now. Ugh.

Should have let this show die off after E3, at least I could imagine two [censored] testing out mods that might be 1% useful.

I agree, and upgrading to the 660 ti enabled me to enjoy a similiar feeling - no problem, I just wouldnt want anyone to go nuts and spend money they dont have to enjoy higher graphical settings - which while great - arent such a super amazing step up - that it's cool to spend 400 of whatever currency. You can still get a nice graphical experience and eat the next day =)

Conclusion - have a nice well balanced system that isnt 35 years old and you should have a nicely looking game that runs pretty okay as well.

I just want to say, people can go overkill on the gfx front - For a long time I had dual 8800's - And they done just fine..

Did I play everything max out? Nope.
I have a 660 ti - Wil l play everything max out? Nope.
Friend has a gtx titan (and no life) - does he play everything max out? - Nope.

It's all relative.

Just enjoy the damn game and move on.

I have a gtx 660 ti - I'm not upgrading for another 2-3 years. That is all.

In all honesty, I really hope you can turn off the messaging about points and that stuff, I dont want it to be borderlands.. I want it to be shadow warrior 1.5 or whatever it is..
