Rich business owners are not the problem, its entitled, rude, condescending rich business owners that believe their companies cannot fail who are the problem. There are a nice amount of franchises that are independent, meaning the store owner is not rich by any means, so yes many people can and probably have worked for a poor person, i have. II would have stated business owners in general, but the larger businesses seem to be more entitled and ignorant than the small.

You have noises what i do for a living, so please do not assume you know my experience on marketing. That being said, MS did not always have the attitude it has today, and many people can see that as clear as day, if you are unable to, I cannot not help you. Nothing wrong with being rich, I'm not far from it, but pretending your customer base owes you, have no rights, and are too dumb to know what they want is dangerous. Backlash over windows RT, xbox one, windows 8, and the condescending attitudes of Orth and Mattrick are prime examples of this.

Your points would have much more merit if this was a post pertaining to a different company, but it is not. You want to include other business mistakes in your post, be my guest. I however commented on a MS issue concerning MS on an MS related article. I really don't care what mistakes apple made in the past concerning advertisement and marketing. MS cannot afford to make mistakes like this again and again, the consumer is not only more fickle today, but they have many more options than they did in 1984, so your example falls flat.

You talk about ad featutre draining the marketing budget or failing, but explain to me how other less powerful, less productive companies can pull this off. Microsoft has pulled off MANY good advertisiments, commercials and strategic moves before, these were not among them. You know how many people i get daily asking me what the surface RT does ? 2 branches had to cancel their contracts with MS because RT could not handle the exchange program imposed on it. Do you have any idea how many people thought it was a full fledged windows OS, but hey what do I know, I'm only using my work experience coupled going by the backlash and sales of the surface.

One of us is wrong, I'm sure the negative cloud and patheic sales surrounding nearly everything MS has produced since win 7 will tell you who.

I will probably never my ms products again, nothing worse than a business run by rich people with smug entitled attitudes. That being said, if they want this garbage or the pro to sell, they need to fire their marketing team. Instead of showing what tablet can do, they opted for people dancing all over the damn place with loud obnoxious music blaring in the foreground (background music being the silly clicks).

Not only was the message lost in that hectic shuffle of nonsense, it didn't really seem targeted at anyone in particular, not real business people, not the social broke college kids, not the anti social rich kids, no one. I have a hard time finding a computing product serious if all you show are "little white girls krumpin and a middle aged guy break dancing on a table during a meeting". BUT, if you are a metro sexually inclined hipster who dances in the middle of meetings while also flinging your 500$ product to business partners and random (what looked to be catholic students for some odd reason) then I guess this is for you.

Even apple commercials while overly simplistic, always succeed in getting the mind numbingly simple message across. Surface commercials won a lot of praise, but any well choreographed scene will. However, a high paced dance routine will not convince many people they need to buy this for their computing, sharing, gaming or office work needs. Just like most gamers will not consider buying a gaming system who's priority is messaging, the cloud, and ads. MS entire marketing team needs to be abolished.

This is the LONGEST train wreck in the history of man or machine. Well, it may be tied with the ongoing windows 8 pileup {o_O}

You know what offends me, zombie skin tone. I am black, and we in the black and brown community demand equal opportunity to be zombies, and to kill zombies of color. Too long has the system hide zombies of color in order to avoid "offending" us, neglecting the fact that by NOT allowing zombies of color to participate in brain buffets, they are suppressing us. Do we not deserve to march the hollow corridors of raccoon with our white...excuse me Grey zombie brethren, do we not deserve to the right to explore space with our necromorph kin. Seriously though, i really wish people would just ease up. The only way this should be considered offensive, is if the the bust was modeled after someone's deceased "zombie" family member. The bust, is a BUST of a zombie, it is not a male or female person...it is simply a porcelain sculpture of a fictitious mythological being.

They want their toxic little claws in everything, seems to be an upward trend lately. Its as if when a company becomes large enough, they instantly try to insert themselves into all other business areas. The world is one big a$$ monopoly board...craziness

Whats that...Silicon Knights, Crytek, and EA have been added to my "do not buy list", thats fine with me. You know whats sad about this, Innovation was what droved game companies once upon a time, now they are trying to make innovation a niche crowd and money the main driving force. Never would have imagined Hollywood's greed would seep into our community. Its devastating to see this parasites drag entire companies down with them, and like rim when the ish hits the fan, the idiots that sunk the ship will take their million or billion dollar payout, throw his hands up and blame the ECONOMY !, then they will go work for another Forbes top company. We keep hearing and seeing this sick trend, more money....more DLC....more money.....less quality dlc.....more money.....less content......more locked content.....shorter campaigns.......trying to push F2P & digital only games.....now they are assaulting the used game market. Some of these gaming companies are officially worst than Hollywood. 12-20 bucks still mean you get the whole movie, maybe a crappy, stupid waste of money, movie, but its the WHOLE movie. Its sad when Hollywood looks more noble that these 3 game companies.

You know, it seems like every time Pachter opens his mouth we hear about it, im starting to wonder if Gamespot actually considers what he has to say important. He is like the male version of sarah palin, he just will no go AWAY !!!!. Everything he says is so god d@mn negative too, he is that "friend" that always ruins a good party or mood.

Everyone is dancing, having a good time, door bell rings, he walks through the door and your thinking "What the F**K !! they said he wasn' t invited". He immediately comes over to YOU and start B*tching & bragging about everything, "yea skyrim could have been better, dark souls was over rated, i have new anime that no american has, i may sell my benz just for kicks".... He can kiss my a$$, negative bastard

Actually i do get it, your explanation is moot though because your are speaking on a global economy scale, i am speaking purely on a buyer/consumer scale. Its great that your a deep thinking, i am as well but sometimes thinking too much into a subject or statement can cause you to miss the point entirely which i think you have.

If you want to get into a global economy debate then save it for a topic that is in reference to it. My comment as said, is relating purely to the buyer/consumer market and how used products regardless of the industry has never had a negative affect on its parent market. The used market has never been deemed parasitic until now, and its not a widespread issue, its only with the gaming industry.

Pretty much everything you have listed is a luxury, a house, a car, even clothes. Video games are lumped into that luxury category as well, you may think everyone needs a car, but that is an opinion. In fact many people do not use cars simply because of the environment. I have visited south africa, guam, hawaii and many other places during my tours in the air force, and i can assure you people get along just fine without cars, homes, video games aka luxuries of the western world.

Point is this, used market regardless of its industry is not parasitic, its not cannibalistic, its just a byproduct of its market. No matter the industry or the market, fact of the matter is used market only exist because the unused market exist.

There is a reason why the used market is lightly unregulated, because its no longer industry to consumer, its consumer to consumer. This applies to Hollywood, the housing market, the automobile industry, retail, and.......drum roll please.....GAMING INDUSTRY lol. @Darnasian @southsideblk
