@Defbal13 @sonichunter99 I do have empathy... I care about what is happening to people who are actual victims of persecutions. Have you ever seen a woman's head chopped off in Sudan for adultery? Have you seen homosexuals being killed and mutilated in Saudi Arabia and Iraq? What about the atrocities done to the Native Americans or Africans? I care about actions, words are impotent unless they are words with actions behind them. Hate speech cannot hurt you.
Are we so sensitive in this day and age we made a word for speech which antagonizes thin skin? Hate speech is just that, speech. We aren't stoning adulterous women, forcing blacks at the back of the bus, robbing indian land, killing or physically harassing homosexuals here. WE ARE USING OUR WORDS. COMMUNICATION CANNOT HURT YOU. A story, a piece of music, or a game, cannot be called sexist, racist, homophobic etc. when there are actual, physical injustices being brought about on people because of this. Kill the words "hate speech" it's a first world problem that needs to fucking die.
I have no problem with trans people ,but I do have a problem with people letting their personal biases effect their work as blatantly as this. Mention that the game isn't socially progressive or correct and move on; don't condescend on it because you thin it offends some people. PS I also find it funny how nobody thinks that portraying violence in media is wrong but portraying certain people in media a certain way is.(I don't think either of those is wrong by the way)
Blaming GTA for being misogynist is like criticizing a redneck for being a bible thumper. Both can be changed but its difficult and not worth the effort.
I don't mind them having real world ads in game. I have a problem with it when it gets to the PS2 era levels of in game advertising. Subtlety is what advertisers need to learn.
I do hope they realize that Japans sexual focus is the same as Americas violent focus when it comes to media. It doesn't make it right, but that's the way it is right now.
