Not sure how they can claim the world will be bigger than gta 4, san, andreas and red dead all combined. I mean san andreas alone was a whole state, and had 3 cities the size of los santos. GtA 5 is only one city ie los santos.
Unless they massively increased the size of their fictional city and the new los santos has no bearing on the los santos of san andreas. then i could buy it.
However looking at the map it , and its streets, it dont look to be bigger than the san andreas version of los santos, so no idea where they getting their figures.
I feel I need to drink excessively this weekend to help pass the time until Tuesday. I cannot wait for GTA V. I love reading all the trolls comments on how it's going to suck and how they're going to buy this or that game instead because it'll be better. I'm not saying this will be better than any other game, but these people know full well they're going to buy GTA V just like the rest of us. They'll love the hell out of it and hop right on Gamespot and troll about how awful it is, while championing whatever obscure game they're most looking forward to that's guaranteed going to be a GTA killer (a claim I've heard many time this past decade, yet GTA is still the king baby!). Rockstar has proven they're the best at open-world games time and again. WHile GTA IV was dissappointing, it was still among the best open-world games this generation. I think it's largely due to the way they incorporate the radio stations into the world to make everything mesh together and feel alive. Adding TV, internet and various activities only increase the illusion that the world you're in is alive and real, while not letting you get attached to the anonymous characters, so you don't feel bad about the terrible and fun things you do. The whole thing being drenched in satire of the real world rather helps with that as well. Man I am stoked for Tuesday!
the only f2p game that I'm playing now is Dust 514 and it is awesome and yet to spend a penny on the game
I would say no to Free to Play games, I would rather pay the $60 upfront. I have always stayed away from games like these on my cell phone and God knows I will stay away from any on the console versions. It just doesn't make sense to me. If developers need more money then raise the game price, but dont treat me like and idiot and make me pay for life's or health in order for me to play a game.
The only free-to-play that I have played is the original DotA, although Warcarft is not f2p, is a complete game, the mod is free to download; had the magnificent memories of the 5v5 session, was a part of a clan, amazing moments to recall, and I can't agree more that you do care Chris, that I am sure of, not sure how you care your opponents in Kill Zone :D
Within 5 seconds of watching Chris' gs new coverage, you can tell he is a million times better than Jess.
I am really interested in Killzone: Shadow Fall MP, specially with these changes. Back in the day, when I heard somebody have included an XP system on an FPS game I thought devs have finally lost their minds, I was wrong. I still prefer the Counter-Strike style (no XP progression) but XP based MP is cool too. I believe this new style should prove very interesting.
The only F2P game I've tried on the PS3 so far is Dust 514. The game itself is pretty functional, but nothing special. I might give it a go on this Soul Calibur because I've been away from it since SC 3.
Well after playing a demo of Diablo 3, It actually felt like a FTP game, I actually think that if they limited it to just the barbarian and they let you play through with the option to purchase the full game for the remaining characters e.t.c, It'll be extremely cool
I played eve: dust 514.......ughhghghh. Remember "grandma's boy", when that nerd said it was the "future of gaming." It was that game. I've played some more, but I'm too drunk to think of them right now. fluids, sleep, nite, nite.
As pointed out by Chris, though they WILL happen, my heart always drops when I hear of a leak of a title so burdened in anticipation, and so close to launch.
I know that excitement and what could be perceived as an open-armed gesture towards the community can be hard to contain, and I'd hope that most individuals who live to expose well-kept numbers, maps, images and videos do so for the betterment of perhaps unsure or skeptical others. Hell, if even to keep the fire bright for the most loyal fans of a franchise imaginable.
Regardless though, the wonders of the new are what keeps future ideas and visions so enticing, and aren't teasers and trailers pacifiers enough for our drooling mouths? Lol
On the subject of well known games turning towards free to play, my willingness is 50/50.
I just downloaded Ridge Racers F2P rendition off of Steam, and although I didn't play for very long I wasn't overly impressed, or looking forward to dedicate myself to the medium.
The F2P mantra, for me, has always been "the impulse buy and quick money will ensure your hindered plays success!" from the side of the consumer, and numbers add up quickly. When I'm prompted within 5 minutes of messing in the game to buy something for 5 bucks my spider sense starts to tingle, and I'm left wondering when I'm gonna start spending money to stay competitive. I won't say too much about it, after all I just picked it up. And its initially free, so don't let unkind or cautious words ever prevent you from trying out a F2P, gamers of the world. Explore it and develop that sense of not only gamer know-how, but consumer consciousness.
It's only gonna get more important that you do as our past time continues to evolve.
From what i was seeing it seems as if the maps in KZ:SF are king of small and full of obstacles. Tightness everywhere. The new challenges system is cool but i still liked the XP system.
I was playing World Series of Poker: Full House Pro on my 360 today and a guy voice messaged me, and I quote, "@#$% you you @#$%ing #@$$%*, I will DESTROY YOUR IP!!! You @#$%ing piece of @#$% redneck mother #$%^er, UR DONE! "(baby crying in the background)...all because I didn't thank him for buying me a drink. I bought him some tissues and left the game. So......I guess I'm cool with free-to-play?
Just looking forward to GTA V ... all Im hearing is GTA V nothing more..kill what?...free to play what?.. :P
I do like Kill Zone, I haven't played much multi player though. I expect I'll give it a bash this time round. Really looking forward to GTA 5. I'm gonna platinum that mother!
@amar1234 I have read/heard that they are also including the insides of the buildings plus I think the size is perfect when I 100% gta:sa I usually just stayed around LS and the surrounding areas the other places wasn't has fun
@obsequies I do!
@highlanderjimd She'll be back after some personal and professional travel.
@Keitha313 "Bury" GTA 5? Do you wear a helmet?
@Keitha313 Saint rows is crap I have allot of problems with that game
@Keitha313 get back under your bridge troll.
@shakinsherlock6 It's so good! I'm intrigued about the warzone customization possibilities for Shadow Fall, could hopefully result in some interesting twists on the mode.
@wan721 Sharkrobot.com is also really great with shirts for every type of nerd.
@garysingh34 it sounds wrong - oh do you want to unlock the hidden character?? its unlocked! but you have to pay $1.99 to use it.
i don't like the idea either.
@uglypinkmoose I'm with you on this. But i feel screwed when i pay for SF4, then Supa 4 then SSF4 Arcade Edition. That was a pain. And Killer Instinct seems to have been so horribly wronged. I wonder if there is even a story mode anymore.
An excellent roll model for his child, and we wonder why youths of today have zero respect. It starts at home.
@ryurage Which is a shame because I actually think the new KI looks good after watching a nice hunk of gameplay
