I know you thrive on your ability to make shit threads supercow, but this is on another level. The fact that you (the clown in the video) are able to bumble your way through your own opinion is not worthy of recognition.

Activision.... remember Guitar Hero?
Guitar Hero died because music games were a fad. People realized they could buy a real guitar and play for real.
FPS will always be the number one console genre and Ghosts is the best selling shooter of the year making a huge profit for Activision.
You make it sound like an accomplishment. They got lucky with Modern Warfare and are riding its success ever since. Any other company could have handled it better.
How did they get lucky? they had a talented team that came up with great ideas that every other dev wished theyd come up with first. Killcam, perks, killstreaks and solid shooting mechanics arent luck.
Their online play was busted on the PC. The killstreaks were game mechanically a bad addition to only further imbalance a multiplayer game. Killcams and solid shooting were nothing new. The reason it became so popular was the insane marketing budget coupled with consoles being the most popular they have ever been, and them doing something new and different (hollywood esque FPS) and with the lowest bar of entry. They weren't talented like Nintendo or Blizzard or Valve or any of the major studio's out there and they got a lucky hit in. Just like Minecraft got insanely popular for being the first proper co-op CMS game with the lowest bar of entry and he probably never even knew that he was making that.
We know that it was a lucky hit because Activision showed time and again that they really don't understand what they did right. They stripped the teams of creative outbursts, they put multiple teams on making the same game, and did everything in their power to milk it dry and not improve on the game. So now their creative talent left because they couldn't do their job anymore and they're stuck with a game that costs them millions to make but is stuck in 2007 gameplay and design wise. To the point that indie teams that spend thousand times less, literally, are outdoing their million dollar teams in the graphics and design department. They never fixed the killstreak problem, they couldn't get spawnpoints right for AI or for players, PC multiplayer hasn't functioned properly up to BO2 I think? No dedicated servers and simulated lag. They were trying to create an esports scene around a controller based auto-aim fest. And in the rare case they added something good to the game it would soon be taken out again at random. They've been flinging shit at a wall since Modern Warfare hoping that something would stick and their dev teams have been hollowed out to the point that once COD dries up, they are going to be on Blizzards life support.
Killstreaks are very similar to powerups from arena shooters. You have to play well to get them. Cod is a noob friendly game but it rewards the highly skilled players as well.
What exactly is the killstreak problem?
Call of Duty is designed to run at 60 fps on consoles, what indies games can the same be said about? The cutscenes alone probably cost more than most indie games. COD has the slickest cutscenes in gaming. It's already been proven that graphics have little to do with the budget. Metro games are relatively low budget games for example.
One good idea might be luck but all the innovations from Call of Duty are far beyond luck.
I find the shooting mechanics feel better than other military shooters.
COD 4 is the 3rd highest rated pc mp shooter of all time. Only UT and UT2k4 are ahead.
If all it took was a mediocre game and a huge advertising budget then why arent other publishers simply advertising the hell out of their games?
MW 2 and 3 had issues due to being p2p but all others other were fine.
People complain about spawns in every game, whats wrong with the spawns in COD?
Every Valve mp game was a mod developed by fans afaik.
I enjoyed gun game from BF 3 and Black Ops 2 so I tried CS Go's gun game and it felt like complete garbage. CS Go felt like a half assed f2p game in comparison.
2007 gameplay? Where are all the other shooters stuck?
@StriateEnd: actually, i have only seen actual gameplay from Quantum Break out of those 3 games. either way, i still don't see your point...people are suppose to be scared of The Order 1866 when we've seen almost nothing about it...but can't/shouldnt mention Xbox games we havent seen much of either? you stacking the deck here or something friend? besides, the titles i put a star next to i've actually seen gameplay for, some with actual video as well...u just havent.
Halo Spartan Assault*
Black Tusks new game
Dead Rising 3*
Minecraft Xbox One Edition*
so why is The Order valid to throw into arguments when games we've actually seen more of than just a couple screenshots are suppose to be invalid. stop it...the nonsense.

Bioshock shooter of year? Metro LL? No?................ok
Metro LL had an awful story, horrible plot. Nice voice acting. Nice shooting, but very bad variation of guns. It's below other Shooters not just Bioshock if you ask me.
its story made more sense than Bioshock's. It reminded me of the movie STALKER which is pretty damn awesome. It also had more variety in both guns and gameplay.
seems like Joel was a poor fit for the show.

You can thank George W Bush, his "Patriot" act, and the idiots who voted for him for all of this.

If you feel that way why don't you piss off over to Afghanistan and start quoting that shit to the Taliban. See what happens.
If true it probably just represents the rumored production problems of the Xbone. I believe MS when they say they are shipping everything they can, but that might not be much.
I think the reason everyone quoted the random Black Friday blogger nobody had ever heard of before wasn't because they cared about which system sold best, but because the NPD is so ridiculously tight with data.
We get quick and in depth sales data about other forms of commercial art, but we only get the ever more scant data from the NPD once a month.
Anyway, assuming Patcher (who isn't the NPD, but does have real sources) is correct kudos to Sony. They have done a lot (but not everything) right and been blessed with incompetent, overconfident opponents who have bloated the cost of their hardware with expensive casual oriented controllers but its a marathon, not a sprint.
I think Nintendo will continue to dodder down the path of irrelevance but MS is a fierce competitor who like Sony last gen, will eventually choose to eat the extra cost of the hardware nobody cares about so Sony needs to bring down the cost of the PS4 as fast as possible so they can continue to have a price advantage.

That's interesting math! I get 40% when I divide those.
66% more would be 425,000 X1 vs 1,250,000 PS4.
err..... thats almost 300% more
The X1 has sold 60% as many as the PS4 according to those numbers. That's 40% more. Not 66% more.
What percentage of 1,250,000 is 750,000? The answer is 60% as much. That means the PS4 sold 40% more.
TLHBO if true. NPD in the next few days should be interesting.
You can't sell more than "sold out". MS and Sony have both sold every console they have made (XB1 % PS4). The actual sales numbers, regardless of how they go, are kind of meaningless because there is a shortage of supply.
If there were millions still on the shelves, that would be another story.
