NASCAR driver will be NPC in Watch Dogs

Ubisoft's upcoming open-world action game Watch Dogs may be an entirely new franchise, but its list of familiar faces is growing longer.

NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski will be featured in the game as a non-playable character, Ubisoft confirmed today. Keselowski will be one of many in-game citizens roaming the streets of Chicago and joins actress and comedian Aisha Tyler, who will also appear as an NPC.

In addition to his career as a racer, Keselowski owns Keselowski Racing, which operates two full-time teams in the Camping World Truck Series. He currently drives the No. 2 Ford Fusion for Penske Racing in NASCAR and the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang in the Nationwide Series.

Watch Dogs launches for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC on November 19. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will be released as launch titles for those platforms.

Ubisoft expects the game to sell more than 6.2 million units. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage of Watch Dogs.

Man, and here I was really hoping he would be a playable character. I guess I'll just have to get over that disappointment by the time the game comes out.

Fact: NASCAR is an acronym for "Nut Allergies Suck, Can't Ask Reggie."

Watch Dogs need to take another 6 months and give GTA 5 a chance to cool down. To think they can go head to head with GTA 5 a month later is nothing but arrogance. Sit down, work out the bugs and make the game great... or just end up at 8.0 average score with nobody that really cares... aka sleeping dogs.

The whole time i was reading Sleeping Dogs and saying ''wtf that's not an upcoming game''.

That's one way of wasting dev money.

Although there's an upside if they add in a bunch of dislikable celebrities (Bieber anyone) and you get to kill them in imaginative ways.

I watch nascar sometimes here and there but that is cool that a driver, a defending series champ, is going to be in this game

Why not have Derrick Rose? He's a Chicago native, everyone knows him, and he plays video games as well AFAIK.

Fingers crossed for a Billy Mays cameo.

Man that first sentence was really bad. Since when is a NASCAR driver a familiar face in the sports world let alone the video game world.

I don't mind them having real world ads in game. I have a problem with it when it gets to the PS2 era levels of in game advertising. Subtlety is what advertisers need to learn.

wtf with ubisofts awkward licensing?....I couldnt stop scoffing and rolling my eyes when hearing "theory of a deadman" in Fahrenheit, and then cheering when I heard Teddy Pendergrass in the same game.

Perhaps these celebs are paying Ubisoft to appear in the game, sort of like advertisements? I like this idea a lot more than real life Coke ads hanging around in the game.

@horselessheadsm Games that score an 8/10 are still great games.  And, even if they decided to launch Watch Dogs on the same day as GTA V, it shouldn't affect the games' quality or score.  For all we know, it could be GTA V that will have the buggy launch while Watch Dogs releases with more polish.  Unlikely?  Maybe.  Impossible?  Absolutely not.

@horselessheadsm this looks far better and more ambitious than sleeping dogs was.  that wasnt  trying to be what gta5 and watch dogs want to be.  and sleeping dogs is a game that will appeal more to pc and next gen, gta 5 is current consoles.

@Dictatroll HA!  Funny you should say ignorant.

Please tell me what stereotypical image comes to mind when one thinks of people that play video games?

Also, funny you should mention "book" in what I assume to be in relation to studying and, therefore, intelligence.  Especially for one who misses proper punctuation in one's sentence.

@RicanV It doesn't matter, stop finding a fault in things where there isn't any, I'll be too busy acting like a sneaky, sneaks Gollum hacking phones to care about celebrities.

@Ehggsz @Dictatroll Oh are you gonna say that i lack intelligence because of a simple mistake?...typical

And what i said was the truth, they are fat, they are ignorant otherwise they won't be hating on everyone and they are simply violent.

Ehggsz
Ehggsz

@Dictatroll @Ehggsz You do realize that for your statement to be absolutely true, every single person that follows NASCAR would have to be fat, ignorant (which is vague), and violent.  I can guarantee you, for the most part, that is not the case.

Everyone is ignorant of something.  If you believe something to be true when there is a possibility it's wrong (such as all NASCAR fans are fat), you are ignorant of that possibility.  If you are not agnostic, you are ignorant.  If you are liberal or conservative, democrat or republican, you are ignorant.  There are many other indications of ignorance, as well.

And I suspect you lack intelligence, not because of a mistake, but several.  And your mistakes persist.  Lack of proper punctuation continues to be the most prominent sin.  Your last sentence is at least three sentences poorly constructed, and "hating on" is just poor grammar, plain and simple.
