 well the PSN sig gives that persons alligence away.

PrimusGears

Man - I got no "alligence"... Gears of War is one of my fav games... and most of my buddies have Xbox360's. But I choose PS3 because all the guys with XBox360s had to keep gettin them replaced and I'm a fiend for Movies and hiDef.

Each to their own... XBox clearly has this gen owned and I stated why (Imho) in my above post.

Its unfortunate - Sony PS3 was/is a very good system and a complete high-quality package. The best of the Wiii, 360, PS3 group. PS3 outta the box you get everything you need, plus more, and there is no cost on cost on cost other than games.

BUT...

Unfortunately, sony for some reason forgot how consumers operate and also forgot the age demographic of its core customers... Sony thought "Hey we will release the BMW of consoles". Consumers (especially the bulk age group of gamers) don't buy BMW, they buy Hyundai (Even if the dam thing breaks down endlessly). Consumers buy the cheapest price tag, so long as it is reasonably comparable on core functionality... As the consumer needs extra stuff they buy it. Consumers are completely unaware of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) its just spend, spend, spend in small cumulative blocks.

eg. "Feels" like 5x $100 is Cheaper then $500.

IMO PS3 new price point will put PS3 in front (period over period, almost definitely not in total life-time sales) IF and only IF M$ doesn't start ramping a new XBox720 within the next 18-months (Which they likely will because it makes sense).

The question for Sony is... Was BluRay worth sacrificing leader of consoles in this generation...? Or would it have been better to go in with a cheap gaming machine, with wide appeal, like M$ did...? Idon't think the answer is is as obvious as it may seem... Time will tell all :)

WoW!!! 60%!!!!

I know 3 guys with X360 and all of them have had the RROD... One has had 2x RROD but he really plays the **** outta his Box.

I have 2 PS3z in my house and one was DOA but Sony replaced for free and I scored a free Dual Shock outta the stuff up. I know 2 other guys with PS3 and theirs havent had any issues yet.

Fingers Crossed for all gamers... Consoles SHOULD NOT BREAK!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!

hukibeast - I think you are trying to tell a crowd of kids to be grown ups...

Most havent even made it through school yet so you can't really expect any type factual thesis proving their conclusions.

Just roll with the punches and laugh it off.

MW2's Metacritic Score on PC is currently at 87 Universal Acclaim (94 on console)... I think it's safe to say that it's a great game, marketing budget or not...

67gt500

Yup... I'm sure its amazing if I hadn't been killing terrorists over and over again for over 10yrs i'd prolly be right into it.

BTW - What would have happened to say Gamespots relationship with Activision if they dropped a "7/10: unoriginal" on Modern Warfare 2...?

Maybe MW2 is awesome or whatever... But reviews are made up of soooo much more then "Good/bad game"... You can't even comprehend how much Gamespot relies on Activision to keep sending them pre-release games, exclusive interviews, gift packs, etc, etc...

Never forget - BIG review sites are businesses and they must look after their most important customers - And their big customers are not you and me.

those of you who have 'held out' on buying MW2 are proud of yourselves for depriving yourselves of one of the best interactive entertainment experiences that money can buy

67gt500

Unlikely... Even all the reviews says short, same as before, just little improvements, multi-player is as good/same as before.... Sorry but I've been there done that (A few times now) and really am not interested in what Activision and IW tell me to think.

Got MW and nothing they have said about MW2 says to me I really have to expereince MW2... Well... Nothing except the $150M marketing budget Activision has thrown at me.
