Borderlands surprised me. Sure it's FPS but there is RPG elements and worthy of at least two play throughs with the main game and each DLC for the challenge. RAPTR has 115 hours logged for me, furlongs in front of any other game.
Not sure. Backlog is immense and haven't been tempted by too many of the sales to date. However, it may well be Fallout: New Vegas at the cheapest possible price once I'm done with Fallout 3 and the DLC's. That could be months though. I have small change in the Steam wallet in the event of excellent bargains - which I accept there usually are. 8)
I guess I'm not concerned if it's a PC exclusive or not. If I like the look of it, or heard good things from trusted sources about it - I'll buy it. Exclusive, multi-platform or shoddy port - it doesn't matter to me if it's a decent game. 8)
The post epitomises why a lot of gamers like myself (who play because they enjoy it) sidestep the MP component of games. And it's not the noobs that are the issue. 8)
I support the original poster's sentiment. A chunk of quality gaming for the price of burger, and considerably less cheaper than a value meal. That's the way to look at it. 8)
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that City Interactive games are OK for what they are and the price they offer. Ghost Warrior had some issues to iron out (and City would know that). Who knows, by Ghost Warrior 3 or 4 they may have a seriously good sniper game on their hands. 8)
I'll present an opposing view and state that Borderlands was a real surprise for me and possibly the game I've most enjoyed over the last 12 months. And that's only the single player. 8)
