It comes down to defending our choices. Just like any other major or minor choice we make that has an effect on our lives. No one wants to admit that whatever they chose was the wrong path to take. Now, if we were to debate about whether fanboy wars can really be stopped we would have to go into philosophy. History has shown that there are all kinds of people, some who are open to criticism and suggestion from others and some who would just see their plan to the end even if they know they're wrong.
But do we really want these to stop? Isn't it part of our genetics/species/instinct whatever you want to call it? The examples will always be there. 1)The early man who chose to cross the river for a home vs the early man who stayed behind 2) Ferrari vs Lamborghini 3)IOS vs Android 4)Playstation vs Xbox. I believe we let it exist because it actually helps us evolve in a way. And to completely eradicate it we would need the whole human race to evolve collectively to a certain level of tolerance.
@Majkic666 I don't think you get what Total War is about. This will probably span the history of Rome from the declining Republic to the Empire about ~300BC to 1 AD. A lot happened between that time including the fall of Carthage and Cleopatra. They may be separate campaigns or in the historical battles section.
